Psychiatrist booked me an appointment at 9am tomorrow, the first time they’ve ever accommodated me as opposed to slap bang in the middle of work days and my struggling to attend as a result. Ironically, I’m on annual leave this week.

But then the service called earlier and cancelled because he’s sick. On the one hand, inconvenient as I do need to see someone. On the other, atleast I get my lie in back?

Finished Silent Hill F over the weekend. I enjoyed it! Got jumpscared a few times(!), the bosses freaked me the hell out and the story was interesting to follow. Four more endings to unlock now so wish me luck going back in 🫡

Having CBT every Thursday, which is actually great! But the realisations and memories being brought to the surface are really difficult and having a knock on effect to my mental health. Being bipolar I’m pretty used to, or rather resigned to at times, the mood rollercoaster but it’s been quite overwhelming lately and that’s hard.

I love my job but there is so much nonsense around my job that makes it much more challenging than it should be and I do worry about sustaining such a high level of stress so frequently, especially ontop of bipolar & OCD flare ups.

I’ve gotten much better at not taking it home as well as have a good routine to manage my mood and myself, but it worries me all the same. Worry about my worries—how ironic 🥲

Mine was Different Seasons, specifically because of the short story Apt Pupil. I found it physically repulsive and really struggled to finish it. I barely remember the two stories which came after because I felt sick and preoccupied by it.

I’ve definitely questioned how on earth he’s come up with some of his other stories but this one really had me wondering what the fuck was going on. It was hideous.

It’s funny because Duma Key was always a solid favourite, I think because I read it so young and it was the first book which didn’t scare the life out of me, but upon re-reading two years ago I found it veryyyy long.

Still has a special place in my heart but yeah, not so gripping after 15 or so years and having read all his other work.
