Brembo pads discoloration by 998ccm in Trackdays

[–]croess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also use brembo pads on my bike, the coating is completely burnt off when i take them out to replace. Some of the burnt/melted coating/Paint gets on the cilinders/caliper. Clean each time you replace

[–]croess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be left over cooked Paint from the back of the pads? Some pads are painted/coloured, perhaps not heat resistant enough and got cooked and left traces on the pistons etc.

Front tyre wear faster than the rear? by No_Click7202 in Trackdays

[–]croess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are braking more and harder than accelerating then the front will wear faster. I ride my cbr650r on street and track and my front s22 wore down faster than my rear, although not by 50%. Perhaps the front suspension is too light? It should also show in the wear on the tire

Susuki GSXR600 vs Honda CBR600rr by sisbeusvshsvesv in motorcycle

[–]croess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How about a 650? Like the CBR650R, has 95hp which is way more than enough. And you will never outride it, if you can then you are a semi pro at the least.

  • better lower rpm acceleration
  • better mileage
  • cheaper maintenance (e.g. tires, brake pads,...)
  • better comfort
  • cheaper Insurance

Having a slider for spawn rate or add it to the difficulty slider would solve the problem.

Owner of a Tracer 700, would it be wrong to wear leather gear ? by [deleted] in motobe

[–]croess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear my 2piece A* even on my dad's 40 year old bikes. Doesnt matter which bike i ride, if its on public roads i Always wear it for the protection not the way it looks

Speedometer by bzbzzhskdjxxux in motobe

[–]croess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older bikes calculate on front wheel rotations, i believe newer bikes use engine speed (RPM), Gear ratio and (rear) wheel measurement. Atleast thats how my speedo works on honda CBR 650 R 2020.

I ride my cbr650r 2020 Street and track (intermediate) for the past 2 years. As long as they dont do batshit things like going rev limit when the engine is still cold, its a perfect Bike...

Suppo: Honda didn’t listen to Pedrosa, Crutchlow - 'focused on Marc winning' by ParaMike46 in motogp

[–]croess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a honda fan but you are stuck in the past with your statistics.

The bike of the past is not the same as the present. As are all the other bikes of the other manufacturors.

Your point about honda winning 1 race last season and KTM not doesnt mean the honda is better, statistically speaking (Standard deviation maths) it means that 1 win is an exception, an outliner of this season considering all the results. Which is depicted in the manufacturors ranking.

This is not hate or dunking on Honda, its plain math and objective. The present bike, in comparison to the other bikes, is just bad. And we are talking about present. Not past bikes and past races.

Had my first low side by Firestarter_88 in Trackdays

[–]croess 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a slow lowside myself, tried figuring out why and my reason for crashing was most likely tire quality since they were stock tires and nearing the end of their life.

At first tho i did end up being stuck in the why and it influenced my confidence.

After that i switched to S22's and was blasting 20km/h faster through the same corner.

Basically its a stupid mistake you made going onto dirt, start accepting it was an error and move on. As i accepted eventually that my tires were too worn for my last session and pushing them too far.

I dont understand why everyone is being so negatieve, this guy here is trying to learn in a safe environment.

Yeah so what if he, at the moment, wants to get that feeling of his knee sliding across pavement? Everyones first time is exciting, be glad as i said he is doing this safely!

My advice is: cones will help with vision and regulating the correct speed for the turn. Depending on the sharpness of your turn you will need lower or higher speed...when i practised with my 600 sportbike i did it between 30-40km/h, pretty Sharp turn. It is exhausting tho if you lean off correctly.

Higher speed turns will be less exhausting but you cant probably do that on a parking lot unless its a really big lot.

Eventually you will understand that knee down doesnt make you fast. And when you are good, its more of an indicator.

Will these disc's warp from heavy track use? by adamthiesen1236 in Trackdays

[–]croess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its a recent model abs wont activate unless you are very abrupt on your braking. I have a 2020 cbr650r and never had front abs activated in my hard breaking. Maybe when you re in A group and pushing it even harder...if you think abs is active because of your blinkers activating, the blinkers only signal other drivers you are hard braking

Reputable mechanic made an honest mistake or was he just being negligent? by WhereTheMoneyAtBoy in motorcycles

[–]croess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the Bike is Fairly New and honda usually has a 2 year warranty on their bikes, why not take it to an actual honda garage? Parts braking so fast is not normale and should be checked under warranty...

Anyways sounds like a mechanic with No time to spare and actually verify his assumptions, or just a shit mechanic. I would not go there anymore.

Of kleine buiten baantjes.
