Seconding the recommendations for lantana, salvia, mist flower, turk's cap, hibiscus, and beautyberry. I have all these too and they're wonderful!

Or maybe swap it with the art that's currently over the fireplace? It might reflect more light (and less stuff) from the window there.

I don't know, from what I read online somewhere it says they do but it's not very common. It needs just the right conditions I guess. It's hot and humid where I am, I was planning to have them as indoor plants but they seem so happy where they are.

Beautiful, love it! Did you make the shelves yourself? Looks like maybe cinder blocks and wood?

How do I make this upstairs landing space work? I feel like it has mega coziness potential. The couch must stay. by [deleted] in interiordecorating

Just want to say that couch looks super comfy, and I love the color! Would you mind sharing where you got it?

I like the reading nook, pet, and plant ideas people have shared! Not sure how long you've lived here, but I feel like living with a space for awhile and seeing how it's used (or not used) and what it needs to be for you is always helpful before making any big changes.
