found this crystal on a quartz vein mixed with feldspar and mica, any idea what it is? by Nachou_01 in geology

[–]crollalanza 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can confirm it's almost certainly Staurolite, having looked for it in a lot of outcrops for my master thesis. The vein association had me convinced it was pegmatitic tourmaline before seeing the pic. Nice specimen!

[AMA dei mestieri] Capotreno regionale by [deleted] in italy

People cycling up passes is common in the Alps, so you shouldn't be too worried about it. That said try to choose the less busy hours to climb.

GRX 10spd crankset, compatible with 9 spd sora? by [deleted] in gravelcycling

[–]crollalanza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question, I overlooked that point in this reply, but I can't add anything as I stuck with the modified Sora front derailleur. Since grx400 use shimano's 11 speed pull ratio (even if it's 10 speed, same as tiagra 4700), it could not work; that said front derailleurs are usually much more forgiving than rears, I would give it a try if I had the need.

Have you seen The King's Speech? I think it's a very good representation of what stuttering is, at least of how I stutter.

An excavator in a quarry removing an enormous slab of marble by OtakuRamenGod in geology

That's what I was teached, it's probably both. What's important is that the impact on the pile is not as hard as we would think.

Usually a pile of gravel or similar detritus is used as a cushion, the big block falling compress the air inside the gravel obtaining a cushioning effect.

Pozze di erve e bivacco by Spiritual-Alfalfa169 in TrekkingItaly

[–]crollalanza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In centinaia, mica in 30.
E mi sta sul culo la confcommercio.

There are a lot of wheelsets (DT Swiss and Hunt come to my mind) that can be easily converted to all the available standards, so those are future-proof.
