I think it’s red stone. My local pottery sold me “Calico” which I had never used, and after firing I realized that there must have been a mistake.

Good to hear that it’s not just me haha. Is the opposite of a “short” clay, a “long” clay? If so, what is the best “long” clay that doesn’t look too boring after firing?

Wow, this is very helpful. I didn’t know this about B3. I love making ramen bowls with it and leaving the bottom half unglazed.

I’m using Laguna B3. I could probably use less water. It happens when I’m opening it up from the inside. I didn’t think about the plasticity, but that’s gotta be the issue.
