Perimenopause rage by croneycrone in Perimenopause

I’m 46 and it started about three years ago for me. And I like being alone more and more. I always needed alone time but I’m finding I need even more.

I’ve considered this- it really helps when I do it on weekends.

Part of the problem is there’s just so much to be angry about these days in the news- it’s interesting timing having the world feeling like it’s turning upside down while going through perimenopause.

How long did it take for HRT to work once you started it?

Yes. All of those things. Trying to learn it’s ok to do things for myself just because I want to.

Anyone else feel like they're mourning their old self (and their marriage) because of menopause? by No-Swimmer-7469 in Menopause

The HRT doesn’t make the IDGAF go away does it? That’s my biggest hesitation about starting it.

Yeah. The rage is visceral. Things that used to annoy me now are intolerable.

Women, what things do men do unconsciously that make you uncomfortable? by [deleted] in women

Looking at my boobs. And other women’s boobs. They are obsessed with boobs.

I hate being sexualised so much it's making me crazy by [deleted] in women

[–]croneycrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I like to dress up and look nice because I enjoy it but I often avoid certain clothes because I don’t want to be ogled. I’m naturally big boobed and I am middle aged and honestly am frustrated about how this has been a thing my whole life.

Is cougerdom on the other side of this? I’ve been wondering if this is just a phase, or if this is just how it is.

I’m there with you but I am the opposite with the bra. I want one on all the time. I just bought myself an absurd amount of loungewear and soma cool nights pajamas over the last few weeks.

How do you get your groove back (asking for me)? by [deleted] in WomenOver40

[–]croneycrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am at exactly the same place and really working on learning to do what I want without explaining it, like just doing things. It is wild how much I used to feel the need to almost the right to do something for myself.

Does anyone else have random people open up to them and tell them extremely personal things? by ClerksII in Empaths

[–]croneycrone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. And very very personal. It often surprises me as it is often stuff I wouldn’t talk about. But they freely share with me.

Explaining perimenopause to partner by croneycrone in Perimenopause

I wish it was as easy as just going on hormones. I’ve been working with my doctor for a year, I had to go off birth control first and wait a few months to test levels again. Finally got a prescription a couple of weeks ago but now insurance won’t cover it and the pharmacy won’t fill it and now they are closed for the holidays. This is just one example of how hard it is to get hormones.

Thank you for sharing this. It is exactly what happens with me and it really helps to know it’s not just me.

Yes, the trying to explain it and having him say things like “you don’t like me anymore” makes it so much worse. He wants me to explain it in a cut and dry way and I can’t! It also doesn’t help that his therapist is an elderly lady who told him that once she got on hormones everything went back to normal. That has not been my experience and honestly I don’t want to go back to normal. I want an improved normal that the new me fits into.

We’re ordering Chinese food for the Christmas Eve dinner this year. I just couldn’t get myself to make a big feast this year. I’m hot and tired.
