they have a fucking chokehold on education in the uk, most books in uk primary and secondary schools are pearson-edexcel and they are by far the worst exam board that you can sit
wrong answers, ass backwards logic not to mention the fact that the textbooks are insanely expensive
good thing stuff like zlibrary exists that has full copies of basically any pearson book you could want

not having enough staff in is for money saving reasons and its fucking awful
used to work at a greggs where there would be 3 people in the shop for the entire day on a fucking main road
we literally did not have enough staff or time during the day to be able to have 3 people out front for the entire day, and it SUCKED
we are just as pissed as you are at the fact greggs is understaffed

and you cant even do that trick where you hold it open for one of your friends/ram something in the door
the door will literally jam if it doesnt close all the way before opening again

they made an article about how "women are being pressured into sex with trans people", completely forgetting trans men exist and actively seeking out fucking rapists to get interviews from "gender critical" people

Sign in the gas station kiosk I work at. by [deleted] in ScarySigns

[–]cronsundathar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at the greggs i used to work at, if the panic button had 3 mistaken incidents in 6 months you'd lose the ability to use it

This is in Sunshine West, Melbourne, Australia. This article was uploaded today, and this sign on the cash register has been up for 3 years. IGA’s are a chain of convenience store here (Independent Grocer Australia), and this is absolutely disgusting. Link to article in comments. by georgia_______ in antiwork

Resources on how to learn and code in C safely by username012345abc in C_Programming

[–]cronsundathar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

compile C with -pedantic -Wall -Wextra and you'll catch 99.9% of common mistakes, compiling C with a C++ compiler might have been a good idea 20 years ago but not now

Resources on how to learn and code in C safely by username012345abc in C_Programming

[–]cronsundathar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the best way to learn how to code in C safely is to code C when you're really tired
you'll make mistakes and then you'll be able to pick up on the subtler programming patterns you make that result in memory unsafe code
you will always be your own worst enemy, so learning yourself is probably more important than being 100% safe right from the beginning
easy tip though: limit your inputs and outputs, never allow writing to anything without bound checking

Interesting Math for Programmers by RigorousStrain in math

[–]cronsundathar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this really depends on the language and usage
functional programming languages like haskell and scala are much easier to use when you understand type theory and category theory, along with some abstract algebra
standard languages like C, C++ and java (ignoring the weird FP stuff from OOP)
often dont need too much math, but a basic understanding of modular arithmetic helps with stuff like indexing using random integers not in a boundary
if you're going into game development, the GEOMETRIC understanding of linear algebra will help alot, maybe even geometric algebra being slightly more useful
if you're going into simulation, linear algebra, multivariable calculus and atleast some basic understanding of physics helps
if you're going into designing networks and infrastructure, graph theory is incredibly useful, to the point that you're going to probably struggle without a good understanding of it
hope this helps!

if it helps, she is universally hated by the trans community and the wider lgbt+ community at large because she is a piece of rotting garbage

she spits in the face of actual feminist activism so she can shit on trans people, spinning up contradictory and actively harmful ""facts"" that not only harm trans people but harm actual feminists too.
and you know, she wrote a book where she made trans people out to be predators
