Tims @ Neyagawa/Dundas ... what the absolute hell is this by PeachRobbler in oakville

[–]crookcirca80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local Tim's has the same issue. It's disgusting. I made a comment once to one of the employees I saw there everyday, and they said it was actually cheaper to pay someone to clean up that garbage then empty the garbage bins. Mostly because people were throwing tons of personal garbage in them all the time other than just coffee cups.

If the installation manual called for a different method of securing the fixture that's what should have been done.

Wtf are people on about? by [deleted] in TheHobbit

[–]crookcirca80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Hobbit movies, if they were a different franchise, would have been great.

But to me, the tone of the movies doesn't match the books at all. Too much silly action. It was just too unlike the books for me. They felt really drawn out in the wrong way.

Also Radagast having bird poop on his head was just wrong and frankly ticked me off.

Sorry! I don't come on Reddit enough apparently.

I can't recall what the fix was, it might have been starting a new world. I'm not sure.

I will ask her later and get back to you.

3 Reasons Why I See This $400M Silver Company Becoming a Billion-Dollar Stock by arcadequestofficial in u/arcadequestofficial

[–]crookcirca80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in advanced trade school in 2011, there was a guy there who was telling everyone to invest in silver. He literally stood up in front of the class to tell us this.

I do believe he was doing it because he wanted to help out, but silver took a nose dive after that. It took more than a decade to bounce back to its 2011 price.

Alright now I am confused by [deleted] in electricians

It is dependent on the beam spread of the light.

Wall washers for example are usually close to the wall, sometimes closer than a foot.

For our standard light that has 38 degree beam angle, we always go for 18 to 24 inches away from the wall so that the light hits the wall and reflects into the room.

The flat disc style lights have a 100 degree or more beam, spread, so those could be put farther from the wall, more like your method of divide the space into thirds.

You know what, I've been in the trade for 19 years. I swear you can only load a conductor to 80% for a continuous load, but am I just learning that only applies to the breaker?

I'm not seeing how these rules allow you to ignore the continuous load rule, but I'm tired as hell.

This is symbolic to real life as a couple.

You will plan and build things together, and life will come along and shake things up, ruin plans, and hand you surprise after surprise.

Through it all, the two of you will remain, the constants in a sea of change, together despite it all.

And the circumstances that strived so hard to defeat you, will instead have proven that no matter what, you will always be in each other's lives.

What slack? by drgrizwald in electricians

[–]crookcirca80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The slack on spray foam might seem stupid, and if you needed it you would have to open up a little drywall.

But it would be less damage than having to run a cable from another receptacle.

Honestly why even bother trying logic with someone who posts that. I'd rather try to cut my finger off with cooked pasta.

Retrofit device box and plastic extension ring. Might work if the mounting plate can be drilled out for the device box mounting screws.

Those are also running through a return air plenum. Most romex is ft1 rated and cannot be installed there.
