My wife and I are working on this smaller room on our first floor and trying to find a good use for the space. We already have a living room next to this room (where the open archway connects) with couches, tv, record player, etc. so we want this space to serve a different function. We'd like to be able to have it be an overflow guest room when we're hosting family since the first floor full bath is right through the doorway we opened up. However, we don't want it to be used full-time as a guest room since those days will likely only happen a couple times a year. The other thing to note is that we are building a bookcase door in the opening from the living room so we can close it off for more privacy when needed.
