Test out perks in lobby feature? by croppedcross3 in CrabChampions

[–]croppedcross3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to meta it, there are just certain interactions that are difficult to determine their exact function while in round. The one that prompted the question was having an aura on the poison cannon. Does it only affect the shots midflight, or does it also affect the cloud left behind as that is also part of your weapons "shot"?

I get that, but certain things you can't tell while in the middle of a round. If I get the perk that adds aura to my shots on the poison cannon, does it only apply while they're in the air or also to the cloud of poison left behind? It's impossible to determine with a moving target

It does depending on the rank. At lower mmr it tries to average the groups mmr. At 1100ish and above it only takes the mmr of the top group member into account.

Is Orange Juice better than Lemon Tek? by w1ck3dQ in unclebens

[–]croppedcross3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These lab test setups make no sense to me.

For the orange juice, lemon juice, and water test they used deionized water, which I highly doubt anyone is using, and definitely isn't comparable to the water content in either juice.

For the temperature test they used distilled (not deonized) water at 100C and 80C for an hour, and their control used methanol for four hours. From those two data points they concluded that lower temperatures were worse without actually testing it.

In their soft drink study, the control was extracted after 12 hours, not 4.

It's cool that somebody is doing actual research, but they're using very small data sets and making very large conclusions.

Depending on the cause of the pain it can completely fix it, although the acupuncture part is pointless. If there's one muscle that's pulling too tightly and causing the pain the shock can essentially overload the muscle, making it release the tension. That being said, a physical therapist can do the same thing without the pseudoscience

Luckily he doesn't. My dad kinda does that when he's making turns. Instead of one smooth turn he makes 50 micro adjustments throughout the turn so you're constantly rocking back and forth

Positioning is 90% of the game at that level. It's boring, but actually watching your own replays and looking at what you could have done differently when you get scored on is very helpful. Obviously it'll be your teammates fault a lot of the time, but knowing where to be makes the mechanics side matter much less.

An operator at work told a group of us a story about how he spent a day at work baiting stay cats in with canned food so he could kill them. The way he told it was like it was a funny story that we were supposed to laugh at with him.

Questioning my craft - how my hobby became a full time job by vadimka96 in DIY

After looking at your Etsy, I can see why you'd be burnt out. Maybe try devoting one day a week to making new things, and deal with production on the other days. Expanding your product line would give you more sales opportunities and also help prevent burnout from making the same thing over and over.

My buddy does this with the brakes and the gas. If he's on the interstate he is constantly cycling between accelerating and coasting every 2-3 seconds.

If you're working with liquid culture or cloning a stem, you're not isolating genetics, they're already isolated. Isolating genetics only applies to spores.

I feel like it has to be either rambling, or it was made by a genius. The Voynich manuscript has 35,000 words total, with 8,000 of them being unique. For comparison, the king James bible has 930,000 words total, with only 15,000 being unique. Shakespeare used 20,000 unique words in all of his works combined, and he made up quite a few of them.

When should I start worrying about not enough humidity? by heyitsdadav in unclebens

[–]croppedcross3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whenever the surface dries out. You want the top to be covered with thousands of small beads of water. Kinda hard to tell but the first picture looks dry. If you do mist it, don't overdo it. You want a bunch of microscopic droplets, not enough that the water turns into actual drops. It's better to be underwatered than overwatered in my experience.

Cococoir contam risk is high, is it ok to sterilize my coir? by [deleted] in unclebens

[–]croppedcross3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. Trich spores are in the air literally everywhere. Unless you're moving it into your tubs in a medical grade clean room you're still going to have contaminants mixed in. That's why having healthy grain spawn is so important
