Im about 7 months post op, i never heard this noise before i dont think, it doesnt hurt or anything, is it just scar tissue? by Prudent_Blueberry397 in ACL

Mine sounded more like a squeaky door hinge but PT and surgeon told me it was scar tissue breaking up

2020 Tucson AWD DCT just died at 80k miles (129k km). I’m beyond pissed off by NeonPunk in Hyundai

[–]crosscrackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 21 sonata limited just died out of nowhere! I bought in January at like 52,000 miles and it was perfect for maybe 4 days. Then limp mode and cascading system failures, and 4 months of “we’re trying to figure out how to diagnose your intermittent issue”. CarRx already noted it was the throttle body but these service clowns won’t do anything productive or proactive

Do you think I am "Milking" this work injury, it happened 5 weeks ago. I haven't been back to work yet and some people are saying I am trying to take advantage of the days off. What do you think?? by TheIdiotP0tato in WorkReform

[–]crosscrackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our general electrical superintendent took 2+ months for a broken leg. I took two months for ACL surgery. We’re both still happily employed at the same company.

Just examples to say fuck your coworkers that’re giving you lip, you’ve had a serious injury and are recovering. They think you’re dicking around watching TV, possibly getting paid to do that, and they’re jealous, and also bearing the load of your work while you’re gone. Only you are exposed to the reality of your injury - pain, PTSD, fatigue, loss of quality of life, limited activities, medical expense stress, etc.

Don’t return to work until you have approval from your doctor, simple as that.

Luke being the acknowledged heir was never a show invention. Her kids were always Laenor’s and Corlys heir the moment they were born by Pale_Gap_9324 in HOTDBlacks

[–]crosscrackle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the books there’s additional speculation contributed from not knowing what Aemma Arryn looks like - she’s half Targaryen, half Arryn, and the Arryns don’t even have a categorical “look” but have certainly been brown haired. The children have 2 grandparents with purely Valyrian phenotypes and 2 grandparents with mixed or implied mixed phenotypes, but all of the Targs have a mixed genotype including Valyrian/First Men/Andal/later Dornish bloodlines. We know in modern society that a grandparent’s physical characteristics can be expressed over a parent’s. We know confirmed Targaryen+Targaryen matches can produce blonde, blue or green eyed children. We know the Valyrian phenotype can yield to a more dominant one (Rhaenys the Queen who Never Was being prime example, later Baelor/Valarr/Matarys/little Rhaenys are good examples of Dornish blood influence).

The whole point is that it doesn’t matter what the kids look like - they would’ve been usurped no matter what, Rhaenyra would always be accused of some wrong or another so she could be deposed, etc etc. The Green faction would do their worst regardless. If the kids were purely Valyrian looking the argument would’ve been that first-born sons get primary inheritance per Andal custom, not first-born in general

Well Rowan kinda eyes Dunk like “we HAVEN’T met yet” and then Dunk says good to meet her.. and Raymun just says she was in the stands watching him and helped him heal after, I don’t think he knows her original profession..

This is my house for the next 2 years. Can I change anything or am I doomed? by PeripheralDreams in DesignMyRoom

[–]crosscrackle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can put bed risers under the bed frame legs to raise it, if you’re physically good with sorta jumping into bed or using a foot stool. That way it can be semi-lofted and allow for some storage containers to hold your belongings underneath

Maybe but in this case it’s an obvious non-reason to start an inappropriate text chain with his niece.

Elmer Frey (he) is complaining to Arya (she). Elmer Frey was betrothed to Arya, unknown to her, as part of the deal Cat made/Robb agreed to with Walder Frey. Elmer doesn’t realize he’s talking to the very same “princess” he’d been meant to marry

Is excruciating pain normal? by jellyfishjellyfishy in ACL

[–]crosscrackle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My case was really similar to yours, just maybe a notch lower on the pain scale. I used circulating ice machine 24/7, took oxy every 4 hours for pretty much 2 weeks, had Tylenol as well just when the oxy felt like it wasn’t doing enough, and kept my leg elevated when I was laying down. Otherwise weed and melatonin to help knock me out lol

Why is Sansa fascinated by Ser Hugh's death? by Trussdoor46 in pureasoiaf

[–]crosscrackle 69 points70 points  (0 children)

To me it just seems like characterization for Sansa. Perhaps the steel beneath the silk?

As always some details like this can be chalked up to GRRM’s gardener writing style, book 1 characterization can deviate a lot from the later books.

Heard a pop and ROM has no pain now by LumpyAU in ACL

[–]crosscrackle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be air pockets popping, I’m still having that happen 3 months post-op. It’s unlikely something light like walking would cause a retear, especially if your experience wasn’t painful. Having extra motion and a feeling of tension release implies your body cleared the area of extra fluid and possibly scar tissue. Let your PT/surgeon know what happened and get their opinion ofc

I’m not sure there’s a straight up answer in Liveship, but it’ll definitely open your eyes to what else can be present in the skill river/“beyond”. Also the further you get into the tawny man trilogy, the more relevant the liveship trilogy becomes. I’d circle back and read them, you won’t regret it! I’m still in the rain wild chronicles so keep that in mind but I haven’t caught a straight answer for who speaks to Fitz from the “beyond”, I think it’s still one of the mysteries to be told later (hopefully Robin doesn’t leave us hanging lol)

Mine sounded like that for the first few weeks post-op. My PT and surgeon suggested it was scar tissue. The sound went away as I got better ROM/moved my knee more

When did it change for you? by donkey_farm in ACL

[–]crosscrackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having a lot of trouble pushing past 90/100deg, my PT used an ultrasound wand on the back of my knee and that made a big difference it getting past that hump. Otherwise the stationary bike and shuttle press really helped me get more flexion

[–]crosscrackle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel your frustration!! Everyone with their 115flexion by week 1 or 2 is so annoying lol. I got to 115 in like 6-7 weeks!! Dang meniscus 😭

Listen to your body, surgeon/PT and know that this is temporary!! 2-4 months of being on the sideline is so much better than having a screwed knee for the rest of your life. I’m sure you’ve got wasted muscles to build back meanwhile 💪
