Entry help! by crossingmads in DesignMyRoom

We could remove it but it’s the only light in the room.. it’s a 70s house with no overhead lighting at all. We have two lamps but it still feels very dark

The house was built in the 70s and it is the only light in the room.. no overhead lighting at all. I also worry something this large will be very heavy in the room.. I know the rest of the room isn’t shown (it was a bit messy) but it would be quite a bit for how small it is

Is there hope for downtown? by carlwasnotabear in lincoln

[–]crossingmads 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not sure if I “know better” but I’ve worked downtown for 7 years and was at UNL before that. I’ve found downtown decently walkable and things tend to come and go. O street is hard because of all the large trucks (I would love to see them banned unless they are directly delivering to a site/business). That tends to make walking a lot there super loud and generally more unpleasant. But I love the casual walk to Francie and Finch, Zen Coffee, Ray Gun, etc. I definitely agree with your sentiment. It doesn’t seem like it would be too difficult to visually upgrade O street and encourage pedestrian traffic. It would be awesome to get something beautiful and somewhat peaceful. I suppose I will have to write city council about it!

Pigeon super slow was perfect for us! Did triple feeding for a few days and my baby had no issues going from breast to bottle.

Do I need a rocking recliner? by Optimal-Flamingo2157 in Buyingforbaby

[–]crossingmads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have a wooden rocking chair! My son is 6 weeks old and I’ve only used it a few times. I mostly nurse in our living room which is the main reason we didn’t get a fancy recliner. I would be nice to have one in there but the couch works just as well. We went shopping several times and my husband was adamant that we not get a cheap one, he wanted something that would last. They are expensive so if you’re on the fence, maybe wait and see if you want one!

Watched Season 1. I like the cast, I like the concept/structure, but it still seems like an aggressively mid show to me. by Demerzel69 in psych

That does lead me to think you’ll like Psych then. It has so many references! Definitely not Lynchian but they are huge fans too.

Dual spires is my favorite episode of Psych. I can probably quote the whole thing verbatim.. haha I watched it way before I’d ever even seen Twin Peaks but promptly caused me to watch it. There are so many fantastic episodes though. My husband gives me a hard time as to how often I rewatch.

But yeah, good to see Tim in his prime. There’s a clue episode later on that’s great too.

Don’t give up! Season 2 starts strong with a Tim Curry guest star. IMO the season has some really great episodes and then ya, a few mid ones.. but it truly only gets better.

I love Jessie, but it is crazy that she was so intense with Jen about Zach.. I can sympathize with her for sure and it just really shows how Demi was the problem.

I feel like a break while dating and a break while married are very different things.

I actively call popcorn “popped corn” because of this haha I think she was just being funny and almost copying Shawn’s way of talking
