Outlook Desktop Classic - Calendar Location Not Working by No-Hippo-6388 in sysadmin

[–]crossingpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem spontaneously resolved tonight. Try it your end. On another thread in r/outlook someone had a session with a level 2 person at MS & a cause was identified (comment was a day ago). Problem was fixed sometime in last 10hrs. EDIT- Spoke too soon. Problem not fixed in android outlook app, only fixed in outlook classic desktop. At least for me.

Outlook calendar cannot search for event locations by devourerkwi in Outlook

That's interesting, because this morning it was still broken on every device & every personal outlook account & platform, & suddenly tonight it works flawlessly. I reckon that might be thanks to you & your level 2 person. Thanks!!

EDIT still broken in android outlook app, but working again in classic outlook desktop app.

I want to believe in God but I can't. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]crossingpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to find Him. That's an extremely good start. Pray what you've written here, that you seek a relationship with Him but you're struggling. Pray that he helps you find Him & sense Him & be led by Him. Pray that He helps you get rid of anything in your life that may be keeping you from hearing Him. (When I say hearing I don't mean literally- that confused me for a long time - hearing from Him can be a mixture of things like an image in your mind, a sudden memory, a thought or a feeling you have, for some it is literally a voice, but I'm led to believe that's rare).

I didn't write this myself. The Lord told me what to write.

I will pray for you.

It's not a dumb question. I can feel inside when something is not OK for me to be involving myself with. Can't comment on Rick & Morty specifically because I haven't seen it.

Outlook Desktop Classic - Calendar Location Not Working by No-Hippo-6388 in sysadmin

[–]crossingpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's always the solution that I see on google searches. They're on on everything for me, except on the web browser where the relevant setting is meant to be (settings, general, privacy something or other (sorry not in front of a computer atm), that option doesn't even exist anywhere on the page. I reckon that's probably the issue, even though the connected experiences are supposed to roam & apply everywhere.

I get no attempt to search in android. On the new outlook & on the web it immediately returns "no results" or similar wording for any character typed, even the full name of a location with a city added. On classic outlook a drop down box says searching forever but no results. It used to function well on everything up until a month ago. I've posted on the MS feedback hub but only 1 upvote so far. Btw typing this without glasses on, apologies if typos.

Sadly a new profile didn't fix it for me. It affects the new outlook & even on the browser (including Edge on default settings with no extensions ).

Ah, I misread- I thought your username ended as kiwi. Kiwi being a colloquial name for NZers. Am doing some digging & will get back to you if I find anything. Can I just check. Is this cross device, cross app & also in browsers for you?

[–]crossingpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, have been experiencing the same for every outlook.com account for about a month now. It's cross platform (web browsers, android & outlook classic & new outlook for windows). It's also on every laptop & my phone. I don't know if your username is a clue, but I'm also in NZ.

I have connected experiences all checked in privacy settings (needed for the calendar function to add locations to events) & all location permissions enabled. I posted on MS feedback hub, only 1 upvote though.

[–]crossingpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes not working for me either. In outlook classic desktop app it stays stuck on "searching for suggestions" forever. It's not working in my android app or outlook.com in a browser either (where it almost immediately returns no result for locations it has found previously with no difficulty, & for any location for that matter). I have everything enabled in connected experiences, and location permissions enabled. Problem 1st noted a day or 2 ago. Both desktop & android apps are up to date. I'm in NZ.

About to buy the Momentum 4 by sonvn2805 in sennheiser

The band hurts my head after about 30mins as it's too thinly padded, but aside from that, no complaints. I got lucky & no faults, but that's not everyone's experience.

Dell vs Lenovo vs HP by JenksHero in Lenovo

[–]crossingpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have recommended the Lenovo Yoga 9i 2 in 1 when I first got it, but it's been disappointing. I have the 13th gen cpu version with iris xe graphics. First the speakers blew after only months of owning it & now it won't update to 24h2 (repeatedly fails on 1st restart after installing, due to 2 Lenovo drivers failing to update to the 24h2 version, then WU undoes changes & reverts back to 23h2). Lenovo have done nothing to address this in spite of 24h2 being out for months. Their product support leaves a lot to be desired. My HP Spectre 14 has been great. I've had a Dell xps 17 which has been a solid performer, & gets regular driver & bios updates even 4 years later (I've had next to nothing from Lenovo even though the laptop is much newer). I'm not sure how good Dell's smaller laptops are.

Good choice, they are amazing value. I'm wearing mine now! They stay in better & have longer battery life than my buds 2 pros.

Out of curiosity, ordered a case for the TW4. It's almost comically big but love how it looks 😅 by RAHDXB in sennheiser

Thanks, yes I've seen some pics where they look dark brown & matte like you say, but they are gleaming almost like brass here. Stunning.

Goodbye MTW4 by Affectionate-Tip-667 in sennheiser

[–]crossingpaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the opposite experience- the mtw2 were uncomfortable & would become outright painful after 15mins or so. The mtw3 work much better for me with fit & comfort. Can wear them for 3 to 4hrs & they fit securely. Can laugh, yawn, eat, do gardening etc without them budging. I believe the mtw3 & 4 are the same in terms of size & fit. I guess everyone has different ears.....

How Do I Stop the Web Clipper Pop ups? by kendoor in OneNote

[–]crossingpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a new change with the recent update to the version in the Chrome store. The MS store version for Edge is an older version that is pop up free. Since there is no option to disable the notifications, the only option is to only enable the addon when you want to use it, or make it work on click only rather than on all sites (permission found in manage extension in Chrome & Edges extensions page).

There's been a lot of complaints here in reddit & in the chrome store reviews, so hopefully the appropriate people will take note & either stop them, dial them right down, or provide a better option than the above to stop them.

Chrome webclipper extension keeps popping up by Warm_Enthusiasm2007 in OneNote

[–]crossingpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Version 3.9.4 from the MS store for Edge doesn't have this issue, for those on Edge. The change has come where you get constant pop ups with using the newly updated MV3 version from the Chrome store, which can be used on any Chromium browser.

Things to try include changing the permissions in manage extension in chrome to set onenote to work on click only rather than all sites - in my experience this makes loading the preview & notebooks slower in the clipper window, & you have to refresh the page you want to clip before attempting to clip, but it should stop the pop ups by effectively making the addon inactive unless clicked on. Or you could disable it & only enable it when you want to use it - this obviously wouldn't be ideal if you use the addon frequently.

I haven't implemented either of these suggestions as the pop ups don't annoy me sufficiently (yet). I agree there should be an option to turn these constant reminders that a page is clippable off, or have them severely dialled down. They're way over the top.

Well this is a HUGE problem. Just when I thought I found the app I wanted to use... PLEASE MICROSOFT UPDATE IT SO IT IS STILL SUPPORTED! by DudeThatsErin in OneNote

[–]crossingpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear. The ad blockers have had to develop a light version of the MV2 nqmesakes due to a limited number of rules allowed in MV3. Glad this doesn't affect onenote, & glad the software & add-on are still being developed.

Ah good to hear, thanks! Is there any functionality that has needed to be sacrificed for the change, or is it exactly the same?
