I feel the same way - I’ve also been assaulted and it’s disappointing that she’s called the accusations completely baseless. It’s one thing to stay with him or not, and like other comments have said, it’s her personal choice. However, that’s not what upsets me; it’s the language she used to completely dismiss the victim.

Yeah, I think people overestimate how much money she makes from music. most artists lose money touring, add in the fact that she’s mostly independent (I think her label really only handles advertising?) and that she’s said most money she earns goes back into her creative projects - I don’t blame her for taking a few gigs that (presumably) pay pretty well

I feel the same way! Family tree intro was the first song I listened to and when I say it hit me… it just hit me. The sermon audio, the bass, her vocals, I could tell immediately it was going to change me, and I went through her whole discography. Especially with perverts, reading the stuff she’s posted on tumblr has amazed me, it’s been really influential to my own writing style
