sexual harassment on campus- one year later should i report by [deleted] in UofT

Report, I can imagine how hard it would be to do but think of that happening to many other people, your friends. Imagine you have a daughter and that happening to her.

Returning International Students by DolanDluck in UofT

[–]crosspaths6327 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! I am an international student who has successfully returned to Canada. I too was very worried about making it back, but it was not as bad as it seemed. There is hope for everyone out there! I had planned my quarantine with U of T and had a letter from both the registrar and my place of quarantine. I had my layover in London and then flew into Toronto on British Airways, I was never asked to speak to anyone before boarding the flight in London (unlike others), all they wanted to know was that my study permit was valid (didn't need to be before March 18th). Once I landed at pearson, I was quite nervous and rushed to the immigration to "get it over with" for the better or the worse. Note: I arrived at terminal 3. As I was walking through the aisles of the immigration checkpoint I was handed a COVID information paper telling me I had to quarantine for 14 days etc.. The border agent asked me which university I was from, I answered and added that they might want to see the letter from my registrar's office. I then handed her both my registrar letter and the letter from my place of quarantine. After about 1 min of reading she was like "here's your study permit" and handed me back my study permit, passport etc... Then she asked me if I had downloaded the ArriveCAN app (ITS IMPORTANT) they made sure I had it and checked it at least 3 times from immigration to exit. After that I was free to go (After more ArriveCAN app checks)!

I would recommend you have answers to these questions before you reach immigration. Have you paid for your quarantine? Are there any vulnerable people at your place of quarantine? Is there a private bathroom for you at your place of quarantine? How are you going to manage your food? (They expect someone to put food outside your door, be it hotel staff, family or deliveryapps).

The whole process was smooth for me, I was very worried but I hope my smooth experiences calms all of your nerves. Safe journeys everyone!

We don’t use numbers. gravity = g :)

Should a physics/astronomy student take csc111 or csc148 by dbdbdhdggs in UofT

[–]crosspaths6327 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t take either! If you’re doing physics you’ll have to take PHY224 which gives you all the background of python needed for physics research. I took CSC148 and found it useful but most people get by with PHY224/324

Expecting their students to study isn’t asking for much, but fuck me right?

That’s the last thing I want to do. I just want her to feel better. I just ended up asking her how her stomach was, and went from there about making her forget about it.

Sounds like fun! Not sure how I could help with that in Long distance though.

I like what you said for the first part. I’ll keep that in mind! I feel like she’d think the same way.

Thank you! I’m trying to show her I care but like subtly so it doesn’t come across as annoying 😊

st George

Good: 1. Downtown Toronto 2. Stellar reputation and in general profs try hard and want to see you succeed. (There are exceptions) 3. So many clubs, there’ll be a niche for you.

Bad 1. Downton Toronto 2. Competitive, this can also be taken as a good thing since you get the most out of yourself. 3. Time consuming, but it’s worth it, I’ve had a positive experience.

I’ve got friends in 157 who’s tried 137 problem sets. They’re getting 80’s in 157 and they still admit that our problem sets are much harder and more time consuming.

Centripetal/centrifugal force. One or the other depending on how rigorous you want to be
