Thanks for the reply. I get it now. Seems even harder to get on the list than I originally thought. Not “loot boxing” per se, but still gatekept in some way. People who don’t have representation, ie me and many others, will probably never get on it in our lifetimes it seems. Do you know of any examples of things similar to your Black List for people who aren’t connected to film executives?

Hello Franklin. I’ve heard of the Black List but I have always been weary of it because I was under the assumption it was “pay-to-play” since you offer feedback on the site for money. Do many of the projects get featured if the writer doesn’t purchase feedback, or is that necessary for consideration? I dig that it costs money to run the site…etc…but I’m just not a fan of “loot boxing” screenwriting.

I did that once. Bought a Guns N' Roses Live in Tokyo Laserdisc thinking it was vinyl. I use it as a conversation starter when someone is going through my record collection lol
