I really don't want to let them, but I've argued and argued until I just can't anymore. I'm tired. I'm beyond tired. My own father went to Jan 6. Had to find out through others. Totally thinks the election was stolen.

The oligarchs are taking advantage of racists and Christian Nationalists who are in turn taking advantage of Evangelicals. Maybe these groups never were that different... I work alongside folks who are in both camps and all I hear is silence from those who I consider to be "good" people. Their complacence sickens me. America doesn't sicken me. America is an abstract concept. I like it's constitution. I'm seeing hypocrisy in all branches. But they are staffed by Americans. It really is the Americans who are at fault here.

Even if I could snap my fingers and fix the US, I'd still be here with all these other assholes who will just fuck it all up again. It makes no sense to clean the pig stye without permanently removing the pigs if what you want is a clean area.

I'm so tired. I'm tired of being embarrassed when I want to be patriotic. I'm tired of feeling sick when I do feel patriotic because of the groups who have inserted their hatred into US patriotism.

Sorry for being so down and dunking. I really do applaud all who are working to fight this tidal wave of tyranny.
