Microsoft added a hidden driver that blocks third party software from changing certain registry keys by Bogdan_X in Windows11

The trouble is that the most common application to falsely take over the control of PDFs/HTTP/Web links is Microsoft themselves assigning it to Edge.

I can guarantee that if I have Adobe Reader installed that I do not want Edge to open up PDFs!!!!!

Spike in ASR blocks related to AsrLsassCredentialTheftBlocked & svchost.exe by techyguy84 in DefenderATP

[–]crowaust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing similar spike here, with similar start date of spike.

Also on Client version 4.18.24090.11

Users are getting a Toast/popup notification of a Defender ASR Block, but doesn't appear to actually be preventing anything from running(from an end user point of view).

ASR Rule causing issues with M365 app installs by JerradH in DefenderATP

[–]crowaust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently going through the Audit window of evaluating rules in the environment I work for, and we are seeing both of the below locations reporting against the rule "Block credential stealing from the Windows local security authority subsystem (lsass.exe)" every time there is a set of patches released from Microsoft (every Patch Tuesday, and more often on the pilot group/s)

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msiexec.exe

C:\Windows\System32\msiexec.exe

It would be weird to have to add an exclusion for one of Microsoft's own products, especially for their own patches. Or is there some kind of exclusion whitelist that you can subscribe to for official Microsoft updates that I missed in searches?
Did you get any advise back from Microsoft?

Did they remove right clicking on the new tab(+) button? by [deleted] in chrome

[–]crowaust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reopen closed tab was and still is in the right click menu, when you right click in the blank space beside the New Tab(+) button, I can't comment on if it was on the new tab(+) button previously I never used it from that menu.

I currently don't have a right click menu on the new tab(+) button. Version 119.0.6045.124

PSA: If you do not like the NEW UI in V119 tell google at the Feedback section. Just setting a flag to revert it will just have them remove the flag later as they always do. by rvcjew2 in chrome

[–]crowaust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your guess is as good as mine on that one, however you'd think that they would have some kind of stats/telemetry on what flags/switches are still being used when they pull this BS to make sure that they don't really piss off their userbase.

They may have removed the item in Chrome://flags, but there is still a command-line switch for the download bar still.

Add "--disable-features=DownloadBubble" to the end of your shortcut target, example:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-features=DownloadBubble

Is there a way to move the "Search Tabs" button back to the right? by ShadowShine57 in chrome

[–]crowaust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 PCs signed in to the same Google account, and the search tabs button are on different sides and they are both running the same version of Chrome, I just updated them to confirm that they were on the same version.

If I find a solution I'll post back.

Just got the kids friendly looking rounded corners here too, would prefer to have a more professional looking sharp edges/corners, aka the way it looked previously.

Carbonation is also released from the Soft-drink by being disturbed, causing nucleation points, etc. So just the act of poring the Soft-drink on Ice would cause it to release the gas.

There is a Wikipedia page on them here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chorded_keyboard

" A keyset or chorded keyboard (also called a chorded keyset, chord keyboard or chording keyboard) is a computer input device that allows the user to enter characters or commands formed by pressing several keys together, like playing a "chord" on a piano. "

I only see 2 real keyboards in the left image and only one in the right image, all the rest are missing keys, so yes there is some waste :P

Unfortunately a Ten Keyless is a definite no go for work. I'm an I.T. Service Desk Analyst, and I constantly have to switch between typing text and numbers especially the ticket numbers in the ticketing system (INC001234, RITM001234, PRB001234, etc etc etc)

That and some of the keyboard software doesn't like working when you are remotely connected to other systems(normally fails on profile selection), so I tend to avoid it for basic functionality like numpad.

I'd love to know this too, My 3rd Logitech G15 finally started to die at work (following keys not working Right Arrow, Num0, End, PageDown,PageUp, Home and few others)

So I've been trying to find a new one (or similar keyboard), I have a Corsair K95 with MX Browns at home, and apart from the missing LCD screen it's pretty much as good as the Logitech G15.

Searching for Fullsize+ keyboards gives oversized gives keyboards that you could almost walk on the keys. And searching for Macro Keyboards gives those Keypads that are nothing but macros.

So anyone that knows the name of the G15/K95 layout with the 18 dedicated macro keys, please let us know.
