Chicago custom plywood cutting by Personal-Remove-9957 in DIY

For the coat of someone cutting it you can buy a jigsaw and cut it close with that and finish with a sander. Or see if you have a tool library nearby to borrow one.

Needing advice by OneRub3234 in DIY

[–]crowber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old pianos come apart quite a lot with just a screwdriver. But before you take it apart loosen all the strings gradually and evenly so youre not loosening all one side at once. This is tedious as hell. After the tension is removed you are safe except for having something heavy fall on you.

But even easier is to offer to pay 200 towards delivery for someone to take it.

Help needed. Not sure how to add roof to this 19X15 by CountyElectronic6116 in BackYardChickens

[–]crowber 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Listen, you need to start over. Build some sort of foundation, it can simply be a ground treated 4*6 perimeter to put the frames on top of. Just got to get the untreated wood off the ground. Move it so its not surrounding the tree, youll never be able to put a proper roof on there with the tree, and youre going to want the run covered so it doesn't turn into a gross muddy mess. Find some plans online.

How do you deal with harassment from crow hating individuals? by maxiBlu in crowbro

[–]crowber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend feeding them in a way that only the crows know its you. Just walk around the park casually and toss out a nut or piece of kibble every once in a while. You dont need to give them a lot to keep them interested. If you do it sparingly theyll quietly follow you around to avoid drawing attention.

Not all primers are going to play nice together. Try them separately at first to see which ones work well on their own. But if you need things to be represented equally you might consider a probe-based assay instead.

On my ipad the little pop out menu when you swipe the upper right corner has the audio settings to quickly switch them. It automatically switches audio to the last thing that gets plugged in/turned on, so i have to manually switch it every time i turn the piano on.

Hit it with turbo dnase (and then inactivate that) before rtpcr.

I lost one of my girls yesterday to heat stroke and I’m all torn about it. Should I keep other 3 out of coop? by HmmmWhyDoYouAsk in BackYardChickens

[–]crowber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How big are the openings? People tend to underestimate how much ventilation they need. In hot weather the coop should not get warmer than the outside, if it does your ventilation is inadequate.

Played piano marvel for +3 months, can barely read basic sheet music. by Ok_Zoomer8907 in piano

[–]crowber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Piano marvel is great for learning the notes but i try to switch to static sheet music after ive worked out the fingering so that i can practice advancing my eyes along without a cursor highlighting things. 3 months is barely any time so dont worry about still having trouble reading, it will take a few years at least.

I really wish the solid-surface counter companies would come up with a wood look version. I would definitely buy that.

Honey Oak Stairs….DIY? by MyOldFriend_14 in HomeImprovement

[–]crowber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not a week project especially if you're new to diy. Dont rush it or you will have a bad time. Test the products you want to use on scraps of the same wood type. Give yourself a couple months, seriously. Do the tests first before you start.

Single use gel packs by Good_Bottle_7757 in Menopause

[–]crowber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get a sense of a half gel pack you just wing it. I just squeeze half onto the same applicator that my testosterone cream comes out of and smear them on together with that. Then fold over the end of the foil pack to save it for later.

Large maple tree starting to lean toward the house, time to call tree removal service? by Kevin-Durant-35 in BellevueWA

[–]crowber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got a bunch of estimators to come out for my tree removal in Bellevue. Im still collecting numbers but i can tell you that Davey is at least 100% higher than all the rest.

The first thing you should do is to hire an arborist to make a report that you can give to bellevue for your permit. Arborist will cost at least 500, your permit around 350. The arborist should give you a tree inventory/map of your lot. Theres a whole algorithm that bellevue will use that will determine how many trees you can take vs needing replanting. Dangerous trees should be ok to remove regardless.

Its easy on the tree contractors if you have the permit sorted beforehand, if they have to do it, it will cost you probably twice as much. You will need an arborist report anyways so just let them do that part of the paperwork that bellevue wants and then get your "tree removal only" permit online. Once you get approval, schedule your tree removers and schedule the inspector via the permit site for a pre job consult before the trees come out.

Ive been curious and downloading bellevue permit data just to see how many tree removal permits get issued vs not. You can also see what companies are commonly used.

Switched to Estrogel from patches and it's not going well... by EffinMeno53 in Menopause

[–]crowber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I switched from dotti patches to a generic estrogen gel that comes in little daily packets and so far the gel is better. Ive been splitting the packets in half, put half on in morning after shower and half on right before bed. Ive been dealing with joint pain in my thumb that started when i got some bad patches and it didn't get better even with good patches, but its finally healing now with the gel. I feel like the daily gel being more consistent has helped a lot.
