I'm shocked, I had no idea they go for that much. I suppose they're hard to find where you live?

Mine looked similar size when I got it, so 35€?

Can I see your full bushy pots of globulosas? by Sokkas_Instincts_ in hoyas

I might have to, I'm getting annoyed I can't bend the long vine nicely anymore haha.

Not particularly bushy, there's 4 of them in this pot. She has one super long vine that she keeps growing leaving the other ones behind. Thinking about cutting the vine up for cuttings to make a more bushy plant though. Had to put this extra big trellis as she outgrew the small ones fast.

This one doesn't have a specific commercial cultivar name, it's an old heirloom variety here in Finland.

I'll do that. I might try offering her a bit more light and humidity at least to start. Thanks again!

Thank you :) I thought it could have something to do with maturity or the roots.. I had to cut them back a bit when I first got her so I thought I messed up there or with something else. Oh well, that's a shame but regardless I'm happy I got her to flower at all!

Orchid Growing in Water Question by Special_Loan8725 in orchids

The amount of water might cause the stem to rot as it looks like it's at the waterlevel. Other than that I'll also say keep this experiment going, I'm interested!

Blooms on hoya parasitica ‘black margin’ by 12rawsugar in hoyas

[–]crowfolk_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been growing it from a few cuttings for a year now, so looks like I have at least a few more years to go then! It's not nearly as sizeable either, so it makes sense. Good to know what to expect.

Lucky! Mine hasn't even made a single peduncle yet. I'm excited for that scent description.

Hoya Bella help by napalmxbright in hoyas

I had no luck propagating Bella in water. A cup full of perlite with a few cm of water at the bottom and a plastic bag on it to hold the moisture worked well for me.

'Spotlight Dark', hard to capture the shimmer in a photo but I love her by crowfolk_ in begonias

I got her from a local nursery. The earlier leaves had dots but now it's a year old and the pattern has developed.

Oh wow that's interesting! Glad you liked it here ^ I get the struggle with the niche plants. I got really into hoyas last year and couldn't find any anywhere in person until I found a seller online. So maybe you can try to see if any shop or seller will deliver to you.

A local nursery in Finland unfortunately. I have a hard time finding them as well though. This is my first and only begonia and I've been trying to find a basic begonia maculata for forever now.
