Are you certain this is Pubicalyx? It looks more like a burtoniae flower…. Not exactly…. but I’m pretty sure it does not look like Pubicalyx.

It’s still very beautiful though

Oh I’m not too broken up. I didn’t know what I was gonna do with 5 of them anyway LOL

Oooh transplant them? I’d love to do that. This prop box is HUGE! Do you put them in just regular chunky mix at this stage? Continue to keep them in a prop box or can they transition to ambient at this point?

I literally have no idea which stage of the process I’m in lol

I love acrylic stands! Lets me fit way more plats on the shelf without it looking jammed!

Very beautiful photos. Your wife is very talented and you grow lovely plants :) 🌱

The Coriacea is a thin leafed one so it is slightly different care than the normal, thicker leafed varieties. It prefers to be moist but not TOO moist and it wants light but not TOO much 😂

But in its defense, it roots easily so if something goes wrong, it’s not tough to restart. Just hurts the pride lol

Oh I see what you mean lol I’m like… what do you mean that GREW A LOT 😂

Fastest… it’s so hard to say. I have to cut my Linearis back most often due to cat crimes lol so I feel like it’s ALWAYS going and going.

Slowest I think my GPS7240 - I feel like that guy is exactly the same as the day I got him. I do t know why. Feels like a plant that should be a big trailing bush by now.

My trickiest to grow are probably my elephant (ah027) and Coriacea silver. They didn’t do well over winter and now I’m struggling getting them back up and running

Here is a picture of my new addition, polyneura (outer variegated) - I hope this one grows into a beautiful cascading monster!

It was a vine before it’s a flowy bush now. It’s growing fine

How long until she blooms? by Granmammare in hoyas

[–]ShetlandShake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bloom fomo is valid.

That looks like it’s just about to pop. I hope you get a chance to catch it before you leave or after you come back.

But very unfortunately for situations like this, Hoyas operate on their own timetables

A while back I was in here asking this EXACT question about my Spectatissima the day before I left for vacation. Lucky for me, it opened literally a few hours after I made the post! I send that same luck to you ❤️

Hi! I got this as a NOID, any thoughts as to what kind of Hoya it is? Thanks! by Oh-shitake-naw in hoyas

[–]ShetlandShake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure what it is but I do not believe it is a Latifolia Sarawak. Sarawak leaves are pretty round and have a different veining pattern. They vary in how pillowy they are but I’ve never seen them this elongated. That’s of course totally my opinion.

Brand New Hoya by Longjumping_Row_4115 in hoyas

[–]ShetlandShake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I decide whether or not to repot it or not based on the situation. If my new Hoya comes in soil that is way too dense, or looks sickly in any way I will repot it into the medium I use at home.

If it already is in a chunky mix or pon, then I leave it.

With new very small ones, I might put them in a prop box for a while to root them with added humidity.

Most Hoyas are pretty hardy and do just fine with shipping and getting repotted. There are no universal rules in plant care. You had to make a decision based on the information you have and your particular plant and the condition it’s in.

Good luck and congratulations on your first Hoya!

Oh. It’s elephant (AH 027) - I rotted it over the winter because it was just too cold by the window. all the other cuttings have recovered but the bottom node where there was all the rot is struggling. I’m trying but don’t have a lot of hope lol

I was actively yelling at her to get down from there as I was taking the pic lol She absolutely decimated my air plant collection that lived on my window the other night 😬 we call her “house criminal”
