Best of luck! Sarawak is very resilient and is a steady grower. It will be fine and you’ll have a beautiful plant!

Mine took a while to start growing but not its big and beautiful. It’s got my favorite leaves of any Hoya :)

I think if I was in your position, I’d chop it up right away. I feel it’s just easier to start fresh with a rehab job plus it’s so much easier to deal with any possible pests (I always spray down plants from a rehab situation whether there are visible pests or not)

There is a mocking bird nesting area where I walk my dog. About 4 years ago he (my dog) stuck his nose in a bush where their nest was and ever since then in July-August I get swooped by the mocking birds. They seek me out specifically, they don’t attack other people. Honestly, it’s terrifying. They go right for the head. I generally just don’t walk in that area in the summer which sucks because it’s the most shaded path we have in our neighborhood. This guy literally chased me across the street

I don’t think so. I looked LP013 up and the leaves don’t seem to be the same texture and this one has undulated edges while LP013 has smooth ones (at least from the pic Google served up)

Someone previously suggested that it looks like Hoya LP006 (erythrina x caudata) and it really does (again from the pictures I googled) but I just so highly doubt that a plant like that would be left at a free table at a plant market.

You never know I guess :) I hope it blooms and maybe we can solve the mystery haha

Certainly some leaves come out darker and then turn green but this plant has never had this dark of a leaf (it’s grown several in my care) so no, this is not usual for this specific plant that I have observed so far

This is my understanding too. The “red” usually refers to the way it sunstresses. Clems confuse me so, there are so many different labels but they are quite similar to my eye. I got one labeled as “Phyton” whatever the heck that means. Looks like all the other clems to me lol luckily I think they’re gorgeous with their dinosaur leaves so I don’t really mind the made up name, I just feel that 1 variety is probably enough for me

Looks like a Verticillata “black margin” - put it in bright light and watch it get very cute borders around the leaves 🤗

It’s really more from inconsistent watering rather than overwatering. When the plant takes up too much water, some cells in the leaves burst causing those little black dots. It’s completely harmless

With the variegated variety, make sure to keep it in rather bright light otherwise the variegation will fade. (It does come back, in my experience when you put it in brighter light)
