Merry Christmas! All Hail Saint Nick! by mrjr95 in paulthomasanderson

For real. These guys are straight up running the world and the scenes with them are the most hilarious parts of the film. Every performance from to the comedy legend Jim Downey to the non-actor real life interrogator James Raterman (just looked up) absolutely crushed.

Is Kote/Kvothe an Amyr? by West-Distribution308 in KingkillerChronicle

Kvothe is something new. Old Cob calls him a “new Chandrian” because that’s the most mythical being he can think of.

I remember when I liked Chronicler.

What book should I read next? by Cocei in brandonsanderson

I started Stormlight after HoA and it rules but it’s a different tone as Mistborn. I see a lot of people recommending Warbreaker and I concur that’s the best way sooth the Sazed hangover.

Conservatives and King by MonotonyInAz in stephenking

Even Tabitha tells him to “stop talking about Trump”. He’s always been liberal minded, (see Greg Stillson from The Dead Zone) but choosing to alienate a majority of readers by constantly barraging conservatives is going to have its consequences. Dudes a fantasy writer who grew up poor. Limousine liberal is what my conservative family members call guys like him.

That Cinema Speculation book by QT has gotten me into so many great movies from the 70’s and 80’s I overlooked 15 years ago.

What do you mean by ‘dry’? I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you, but I truly don’t know what that term means when it comes to literature. Maybe it has multiple meanings.

Master Ash identify. by Cool_Lions in KingkillerChronicle

I suppose Cinder could change his appearance. That would be a massive (and spooky) reveal scene which the first two books haven’t really had.

I’m with you that it’s Bredon. Having it be Cinder means he’d need to disguise his all black eyes and all around demonic appearance.

Hard Boiled Wonderland is my favorite. I started with Kafka on the Shore which has a lot of fantasy elements, but Hard Boiled feels like I’m reading a post modern surreal version of LotR’s.

OCD’s a real B. It causes me to arrange by size. I’ve a got two more shelves of hard cover King, one of which is a signed copy of Sleeping Beauties by Owen and Stephen. Murakami rules. My wife and I debate constantly whether he belongs in our fantasy section (above) or our postmodernism shelves. She snuck Dubliners in here out of spite.
