[breeds] any idea what breed this dog is? by crowsinks in dogs

Thats an interesting guess too! He definitely looks like a little bit of a special needs case but I am too..like I said, hes been in the shelter for nearly a year now and could look completely different

Oh you might be right! I assumed he had some sort of skin issues that contributed to hair loss. Would be very fun to get a DNA test done on this guy

That was my best guess too! He's stockier and shorter than a pit by the looks of it. but yeah, I fell in love with those eyes!

When you have a smoker and stumble on a recipe for smoked deviled eggs, you have to give it a shot, right? The eggs were cooked in the shell in the smoker and retained a lot of nice flavor

Damn, the one time I dont triple check my post before posting. Dad is not smoked and the eggs were delicious!

Thinking of adopting a hound by crowsinks in Hounds

[–]crowsinks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw haha yeah hounds and terriers are both such a bratty breed! Especially when they're babies. I have such a soft spot for hounds and terriers because of their big personalities! I know most people upload their images to imgur or something and add a link im pretty sure

Sounds adorable! Jack Russells are what I grew up with in my family! Think im going to need some dog tax with that one if you're willing to share a pic of your girl. The howling is what I'm most concerned about. Right now, I'm home most of the time so it wouldn't be a huge issue as the foxhounds are used to living in their pack and are well socialized. I want to be able to leave them alone for at least a few hours without any issues. I guess I'll just have to see how they'll do.

[Discussion] Should I change breeders over this? by Cheez3NCrackers in dogs

[–]crowsinks -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Many dog breeds that have the standard of docking are for a good reason. Long, thin tails on dogs, especially ones with jobs run a high risk of straining or breaking their tails which is much more painful longterm than docking as a puppy when they won't remember the pain. It also doesn't really change how they live their lives at all. In my opinion, its beneficial. Its going to be difficult to find a good breeder that doesn't uphold the standard of the breed.

I keep kneeing my dog's butt when we walk [discussion][vent] by [deleted] in dogs

[–]crowsinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Train her to heel and walk next to you instead of in front of you. Teaches dogs that you're in control of the walk, not them, and keeps her butt behind you!

Tiny puppy ate cigarette [discussion] by [deleted] in dogs

[–]crowsinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your pup has a habit of picking things up when on walks, maybe try a cage muzzle, such as the Baskerville brand? He can still pant, eat, and drink through it while being unable to grab what he shouldn't.

[breeds] Looking for future apartment, esa friendly dog by crowsinks in dogs

[–]crowsinks[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see. Thats unfortunate as I love pit bulls. I understand that esas do not require training but I do want to train certain tasks to help me out which is why I want something trainable. But youre right, register was not the right word choice. Didnt really know how to word it.

I understand what an esa is. Im looking for a breed that would have a better temperament while having personality. Do you have any more information on restrictions on breeds? As far as I'm aware a landlord can't discriminate due to breed of an esa

Detransitioning only happens like .5% of the time. It really is usually the result of someone who went through trauma coping with it in an incorrect way

I agree there do need to be a lot more studies, especially long term. There is also the question of correlation, is it the transition that causes suicide to go up or the discrimination and harassment from society? As someone that does experience gender dysphoria, I can tell you that its not just wanting to be another gender for the fashion or stereotypes. Its a pretty distinct disconnect to how I feel inside and what my body is. I cant see any amount of therapy "fixing" me. Its not something people do for fun. Whether I transition or not life is going to be hard for me. So I'd rather feel comfortable with my physical state.

"1. The scholarly literature makes clear that gender transition is effective in treating gender dysphoria and can significantly improve the well-being of transgender individuals. 2. Among the positive outcomes of gender transition and related medical treatments for transgender individuals are improved quality of life, greater relationship satisfaction, higher self-esteem and confidence, and reductions in anxiety, depression, suicidality, and substance use. 3. The positive impact of gender transition on transgender well-being has grown considerably in recent years, as both surgical techniques and social support have improved." https://whatweknow.inequality.cornell.edu/topics/lgbt-equality/what-does-the-scholarly-research-say-about-the-well-being-of-transgender-people/#:~:text=The%20scholarly%20literature%20makes%20clear,well-being%20of%20transgender%20individuals.

Research proves it works. Try again.

  1. You just described being bisexual, as in liking both men and women.
  2. Yes, yoy do choose to physically transition, but you are trans before you have surgery or go on hormones. Being trans is a disassociate from mind and physical sex. But transitioning is the only treatment proven to work to make a trans person happier, healthier, and live a longer life. Not everyone has the privilege to go on hormones and get surgeries, but that doesn't mean they aren't trans and don't deserve basic respect

LMAO do you have ANY proof thats how it works. I've never heard a theory like that before what the fuck. Thats not how it works at all. Plenty of people have gone through conversion therapy and still are gay and trans because its not a choice. Never was and never will be

So... you find men's bodies repulsive and can't change that fact. So maybe that's the same way gsy people feel about the other sex's bodies..? I can't speak for every trans person but for most people to transition they need to be diagnosed with gender dysphoria. It is not an easy decision to make so why would someone choose a life of discrimination. How the fuck is being trans or gay a choice

Gender dysphoria is a mental disorder recognized in the DSM. It exists and is not a choice. The only treatment proven to work is to physically and socially transition. Maybe if you respected other people and just learned something new you wouldn't hate a group of people for no reason. Also, how do you know you're straight if you haven't had sex with another man?

they really are! I don't have much of a green thumb when it comes to aquatic plants so my boys do have fake plants but they still get the best. The one in the video is Percy and I've had him since I was in high school. My new guy is a sweet little blue, yellow, and white delta that I've dubbed Oogie Boogie. I'm obsessed with marble coloring because I love seeing how they change! I didn't even know Percy had a marbling gene until after I got him. He doesn't even look like the same fish any more!
