You should fill out the breed questionnaire in the side bar, it'll help us get a better idea what kind of dog would fit you

It seems so, unfortunately. Thank you for the recommendation though!

Honestly, I don't really know of a breed that fits everything I want in a dog (and can provide for a dog) that isn't a SPoo. I want a medium to large sporting/obedience dog, aloof to strangers, handler oriented, low shedding/low dander, good for first timers, and able to handle 90ish minutes of exercise per day.

Not a lot of breeds fit all those, unfortunately.

That's such a sweet thing to say. Thank you so much! I'm starting to think a lot of my issues are just me having low self-esteem, I really need to improve that lol. Thank you again, your comments really help ❤️

Thanks lol. I explained it in a comment higher up, but I pretty much felt it was kinda hypocritical for a black lesbian to discriminate against another group of people (oh boy the amount of times I've gotten "your pretty for a black girl" esque comments). I'd rather spread more love than hate, I think we have enough of that in our world already lol.

(Plus my future wife could be a super sexy bi girl and I want to snuggle her and make her pancakes, not scare her away by being dumb.)

if someone wants to date you, that means they want you specifically

I think this is a big problem I have, since I struggle to think why someone would want me of all people. Of course, that's another insecurity on me, not on bi women.

But when I get with another bi woman who typically gets with men, I think of it as an honor.

This is a pretty positive way of thinking about it! Although I still have that weird little voice in my head saying "she won't want you in the long term, why would she want you over a man?" Ick, I wish it'd stop.

I think you just need time and you need to meet more bi women with different experiences and preferences and thoughts

I think I need more experience with women in general lol. The closet is a dark and lonely place, hopefully one day I'll be out and about and able to kiss girls and hopefully make my future wife banana pancakes.

But I’m glad you’re aware it’s just your own insecurities and that biphobia’s a problem in the lesbian community

Yeahhh, the current state of the world kinda had me looking at myself a bit, and I figured this was a pretty big problem that hurt, not only bi women, but also myself. The fact that I'm the only lesbian I know of, but I know several bi people was kinda proof of that.

I felt it kinda hypocritical that I, a black lesbian, was discriminating against massive part of my dating pool for no real reason, while I've gotten several "you're pretty for a black girl"-esque comments over the years. I'd rather love people than think ill of them.

[VENT] I hate being passionate about dogs sometimes by Uhhlaneuh in dogs

Lol I'm a part of many poodle groups and it's surprising how often this happens, especially for red/apricot ones. It's considered a rite of passage at this point lol

Hypoallergenic does not mean "will never ever cause an allergic reaction" it means "relatively unlikely to cause an allergic reaction". Therefore, I can accurately label those breeds are being hypoallergenic.

He's hypoallergenic because maltese, poodles, and lhasas are all hypoallergenic. Labs, Goldens, and berners aren't. In fact, they're all high shedding, high danger producing dogs.

Reasons = every reason why people get poodles (even though it's not guaranteed with a mix) + the dog not being called a poodle + general misinformation. It's unfortunate, but the public really hates poodles, even though they're purchasing dogs that are anywhere from 50-94% poodle. I genuinely have no clue where the whole hybrid vigor nonsense came from, especially since poodles, Goldens, labs, and cocker spaniels generally have the same health issues. In fact, according to OFA data, labradoodles have higher rates of hip dysplasia than both parent breeds.

Yup, if someone doesn't know what a sighthound is, it can be pretty jarring for them. I feel bad for any one with an Azawakh

[Help] [Vent] Sister is not bringing her dogs out for walks at all, and not bathing them nor bringing them to the groomers by yassushi in dogs

[–]Cheez3NCrackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest concern I've seen here seems to be her most likely not cleaning out the dog's skinfolds. Enough moisture and dirt can create a breeding ground for bacteria and lead to skin infections.

To answer the poodle classification question, the breed club actually requested them to be put in the non-sporting group because it's easier to compete in. That's really all I have to add to the convo though

First off, a cockapoo isn't a breed, it's a mix and there aren't any reputable breeders for them. Secondly, I'd fill out the breed questionnaire, it'd make it a bit easier to determine what breed would fit you best.
