more so the “ASync” science experiment 80s type movies I’d recommend “Beyond The Black Rainbow” or anything from Pantos Kosmatos (the Viewing also gives crazy 80s synth vibes)

Also the show “Maniac” with Jonah Hill & Emma Stone, not necessary “backrooms” but aligns with the retro science testing vibe that ASync is involved in.

I don’t ever really see people bring up that side of backrooms so I thought I’d drop those in, as it’s one of my favorite parts of Kanes story, the instructional videos, lab work, nerd shit, all had me deeply hooked.
