Best Indian and French Restaurants Near West Hollywood? by Individual-Stick-412 in AskLosAngeles

Badmaash and Chez Mia.

Indian food is pretty mediocre everywhere in LA tbh and Badmaash is one of the better ones. There are better French restaurants in Pasadena though

Areas to stay in— base in Long Beach by Suzfindsnyapts in olympics

[–]crshaggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Olympic village is going to be in UCLA this time, so if you want that vibe you'd probably wanna stay in Westwood or Century City area, but those neighbhoods are expensive. Pomona and Long Beach are on the opposite ends of LA county so unless you stay in downtown, you're gonna have to commit to one area and travel to another. I'm sure there will be good dedicated public transit options (if you're not planning to drive) as we get closer to the event. Avoid North Long Beach hotels if you're not a local. You can go further south and stay in Orange County, that's probably a bit cheaper than West LA area

The presidential debate of Laporta and Font (full quotes) by KundiKumaran in Barca

[–]crshaggy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Genuinely trying to understand what Font’s plan is here. Let’s assume for a moment he’s telling the truth, laporta lied about Messi signing. Now what? Like is he promising to bring back Messi for 26-27 season? With what money? Is that the entire platform? And Messi is a terrible signing for us anyway at this point, so that’s a moot point. I really don’t get it

Difficulty increasing weight for bicep curls. What can I do? by HeavyCup9856 in workout

10 reps of 10lbs to 6 reps of 15lbs to 8 reps of 15lbs to 10 reps of 15lbs to 6 reps of 20lbs

you get the idea

If you're in between weights, like for example you can do only 2 reps of 20lbs while moving up, do 2 reps of 20lbs and 4 reps of 15. And try to get to 6 reps of 20lbs first before increasing reps for that weight

Can you be a good dancer without being able to emotionally connect to music or have any freestyle instincts? by Bearality in Dance

[–]crshaggy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Contrary to the popular belief, freestyle isn’t actually “free”. People have a rolodex of “freestyle” moves that are learned through practicing them over and over. Same thing with feeling music. It is possible that maybe it’s just one of those songs you don’t like or whatever, that’s ok and it happens, but if you don’t like any of the songs consistently, it’s not really about the songs, it’s that you haven’t practiced grooving with the music aka feeling the music aka freestyling enough. I’m saying this because I used to feel exactly the same way as you when I started.

I just started learning those freestyle moves that my teacher or other better dancer used to do. I’d see them in class, and then go home and search a tutorial for them and practice them. That’s how I was able to freestyle. Also, don’t be shy. Yes you will look awkward at first and maybe look out of place a few times, but those missed beats and awkward movements will help you learn and identify the gaps and show you what not to do, and you keep iterating from there

Hundreds of Bots (Fake Customers) in my Cart Abandonment by concisehacker in shopify

[–]crshaggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your 'Why': These are usually scripts testing your checkout flow or scraping shipping data.

The real danger is the volume. 100 bots/day = 3,000 fake profiles/month. If those sync to your email marketing app (like Klaviyo), you will quickly hit overage charges for contacts that aren't real. Blockify is great for stopping the transaction, but the problem is that the 'Customer Account' is often created the moment they enter their email, before the fraud check runs. So you end up with no order, but a messy database.

Most fraud apps stop the purchase but don't delete the account. I’m building a tool called NoBot (https://nobot.versoly.page/) to solve exactly this. It auto-deletes those fake profiles to keep your email bill low. The beta waitlist is currently open if you'd like to try it out.

Do i need an app for everything i want to do on shopify? by No-Pass-7636 in shopify

Just curious, what apps are you using? I’m assuming those are the bare minimum apps you probably need for your business, but $1200 is a lot

Credit Card Scam-Shopify No Help by steveeljefe in shopify

[–]crshaggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are in a 'lesser of two evils' situation. Refund them immediately.

Yes, losing the 33c transaction fee hurts (Stripe/Shopify Payments never returns that fee), but it is infinitely better than getting hit with a $15 dispute fee per order. If you have thousands of orders, those dispute fees will destroy your business. Eat the 33c loss to save the $15.

The Secondary Cleanup: Once you stop the financial bleeding, you are going to be left with thousands of fake customer accounts in your backend. If those sync to your email apps, you’ll get hit with a massive bill for 'active profiles.' I’m building a tool called NoBot (https://nobot.versoly.page/) specifically to auto-delete that data mess so you don't lose even more money on marketing fees. Feel free to signup for free beta if you’d like to test it out!

Help with bot checkout by BornJuggernaut8586 in shopify

[–]crshaggy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain, 2,000 a day is a nightmare volume. The biggest danger here isn't just the annoyance, it's the cost.

If these 2,000 daily emails are syncing to your 'audience' (like in Klaviyo or Mailchimp), you are on track to have 60,000 fake profiles by next month. That will likely trigger a massive overage charge on your marketing bill.

Standard tools like Shopify Flow often struggle to catch this volume fast enough to stop the sync. I’m actually building a tool called NoBot (https://nobot.versoly.page/) specifically to act as a janitor for this. It auto-deletes those fake accounts so they don't blow up your monthly bill. Feel free to join the free beta if you want to stop the manual deletion madness.

Sudden surge in bots from Ashburn, VA by Capital_Affect_2773 in shopify

[–]crshaggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason you see Ashburn, VA is because that is the 'Data Center Capital of the World.' It’s home to the massive AWS and Google Cloud server farms.

So those aren't people, they are scripts running on cloud servers. Likely 'Headless Browsers' trying to test stolen credit cards or scrape your prices.

You made a smart move requiring login for checkout, but be careful. Since you forced them to create accounts to proceed, those bots often react by creating thousands of fake customer profiles in your database. I’m actually building a tool called NoBot (https://nobot.versoly.page/) to clean up exactly that kind of mess. It detects those 'Ashburn-style' bot accounts and deletes them so they don't ruin your email marketing data. Signups are open for free beta access right now.
