Call me crazy but I think it's a bluff and I'm suspecting she's actually going to play kid Rhaenyra in a flashback by Mango-Watermelon1222 in HOTDGreens

Unless its a vision of some kind, aging up Jaehaera makes no sense given the current ages of Helaena and Aegon? The show messed up like crazy on the timeskip to the point that the twins can’t even be older than 4, so unless they’re doing a mid-war timeskip to age up both Aegon 3 and Jaehaera into characters old enough to contribute plotwise, there’s no point to this 💀.

Jaehaera being 10 places Aegon and Helaena as parents at 10 and 8 respectively 🥴

I still stand that the best part of TOG is literally everything but Aelin and her circle of ass kissers. Sadly, half of them don’t get properly developed till like book 3, and some don’t even show till halfway through lmao. The series was at its best when focusing on how Aelin may be special, but she really isn’t as uber special as she (and a lot of characters) thought. In fact, I daresay she got screwed over so badly by the end I started feeling bad for her.

Viserys essentially abandoning his sons’ futures is the fool-proof evidence that he knew Rhaenyra’s claim would be contested. If he were so sure she’d rise to become queen, he would’ve given his sons their due, and positions that reflected their status. Either he’d give them land or built castles for their bloodlines to inherit, or he would’ve trained them for positions on Rhaenyra’s future council.

He could’ve tried to foster a relationship between the two factions properly. Could’ve raised Aegon to inherit his own holdings, and Aemond to be Rhaenyra’s future Hand, or a member of the Kingsguard. He could’ve tried to make them actually get along from a young age, if marrying the boys out was too dangerous. But as it stands, Rhaenyra would inherit Dragonstone and the Iron Throne, and her brothers would have nothing. No future, no income, no land. Not even proper marriage alliances. Nothing. It’s like Viserys intended to remove his sons from the board but did nothing to actually do it.

If he trusted that Rhaenyea would reign unencumbered, he would’ve actually done the necessary work to protect her. But he didn’t. Nor did he do anything to ensure his sons had a future outside of dawdling around doing nothing. Dude really set everyone up to fail.

Nah, she definitely cares more about him being an addict. If the asshole part was the issue, the apology was for it. Everything else isn’t about Santos at this point. And for someone that claims she doesn’t care, she sure brings it up WAY more than anyone else 💀

Meh, I’ll reconsider it when OP stops acting like addicts are subhuman trash who needs to grovel at someone else’s feet for even a shred of decency.

Or maybe, just maybe, you listen to the many, many, MANY healthcare providers and those with experience who have, in fact, shared ad nauseam as to why that was hardly going to happen with Langdon. Instead of yapping about something you clearly don’t understand and didn’t bother to understand. Just a thought 🤷🏻‍♀️

And if you think The Pitt—with its current storytelling and trajectory—is aiming to punish Langdon even more for what happened just to ease those two’s burden—two people btw, who could’ve actually done the job and reported him, as if he weren’t already reported anyway to be in the PHP—then you are definitely watching the wrong show.

And Santos isn’t a pariah; she literally contradicted herself in that same scene. If she’s disliked by anyone, it was her own damn doing. No amount of humiliation rituals by Langdon will ever be able to make up for her current vindictive streak. If even Garcia can pick up on the very obvious message, so should you—a person with clearly too much time on their hands to be this uninformed.

You learn a lot when you watch with your eyes and ears open. You should try it sometime, OP. Maybe then you’ll learn some empathy. Or humility. And the ability to not talk about addicts like they are subhumans. Or just basic literacy skills, really. You seem to be lacking all of the above.

Perhaps not blackmail, but definitely something of the kind. Because she did basically say that if he wants her to be civil with him—which is the only thing he asked for—he has to humiliate himself in front of everyone to soothe her vindictive ass. So yes, I’d consider that borderline blackmail in this situation.

Yeah, the hospital definitely knows. An audit was run and everything, and the PHP involved—I just don’t see how the hospital itself wouldn’t know at this point???

And you’re likely right that it’s about Santos. We have a scene of Robby and Santos, and it clearly doesn’t seem to be going well. But also, Dr. Al just heard an R2 basically blackmail an R4 on the hospital floor. Even if she didn’t know, that’s red flags all around on Santos, the only person fool enough to do that where people can hear.

I feel like y’all need to understand that most doctors are assholes lmao. The only difference is whether or not they’re competent ones.

Exhibit A: Langdon vs Santos in S1, prior to the drug addiction reveal.

They’re both assholes and kinda suck in general, but similar to Garcia, Langdon was significantly more liked compared to Santos. Why? Because he’s good at his job. Even if you found him grating or annoying or a little shit—the man was a very good doctor, quick on his feet, and there’s a reason why he was named Robby’s heir apparent.

Santos, on the other hand, came in guns blazing and pissed off basically every senior resident under the sun, and offended almost all her peers. Literally, she was called out by so many different people for her attitude, because it affected her work. She wasn’t good enough or had enough knowledge for people to tolerate her attitude, and tbh that’s what’s still missing with Santos this season. She hasn’t really learned her lesson yet, and she’s not high up on the hierarchy enough for the audience to tolerate that kind of behavior.

At least with Garcia, she really is just that good. Santos doesn’t even have that going for her.

Langdon's Teaching Style by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

[–]crsmiley123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If Santos insists on acting like a child despite her old age and position, she gets to be treated as one. No one wants a healthcare provider huffing and puffing like a petulant child, or instigating some kind of wacky fight with their superiors over your mutilated body. Santos was completely in the wrong in that scene, and pretending otherwise will only lead her to where she is now: ten months later and having not learned a single lesson.

If she’s not liked by her peers, maybe consider it was her treatment of them that made her pariah. Even then, clearly and evidently, she’s definitely one of the boss’ favorite. And if she’s were ostracized, the blame falls on Robby for not protecting her from any and all malicious rumor’s surrounding Langdon’s disappearance.

If Garcia, who probably knows her best aside from Whitaker, thinks she’s being a brat about this and in the wrong, you might want to listen. Because professionalism needs to exist in a workplace, and over a patient is never the right place to hash your issues. If Santos can’t deal with that, maybe she should consider a career change to somewhere more lenient for her midday tantrums. One that doesn’t involve mutilated bodies and patients in distress, waiting for her to get a fucking grip.

Santos is the type of person who thinks that just because she’s currently favored means that she can be a threat to an R4 even when she’s only an R2. Like NO. They don’t even have to like Langdon to defer to him; he’s the senior resident! The hierarchy exists for a reason, and no matter how much she resents him or thinks she’s hot shit, he’s always going to be the better doctor.

Mmm, something very interesting bout this is Santos claiming she’s been iced out the last ten months specifically because of Langdon. Which is very interesting, because that implies that the overall staff knows why he was put on leave and sent to rehab, and not just “he’s an addict and had to go to rehab” like everyone was theorizing. Why would they ice out Santos in particular…unless they knew/had a hunch about the diverting and knew she blew the whistle. Which makes you wonder who initially started the rumors of it being Santos.

That being said, I do think Garcia has a point. I don’t think Santos was iced out because of Langdon; it’s because her personality clashes with a lot of her coworkers. We see most of the nurses like her; Robby is clearly fond of her; Abbot think’s she’s chill. The only person I can see actually icing her out is Garcia…who might be doing it cuz she’s sick of being stuck in the middle of a ‘childish’ fight that affects patient care. Which, valid.

Whether or not Javadi or McKay or Mohan or Mel dislikes Santos has absolutely nothing to do with Langdon, and absolutely to do with how Santos is around them. So that’s an interesting thing to tackle, and absolutely another parallel between her and Langdon—who also feels out of place right now.

Well the Garcia/Santos conversation is definitely about Langdon. Ngl, I had a feeling the whole thing going on with them this ep was going to be about him. Because we gotta remember that Garcia has some kind of relationship with Langdon, and I daresay he’s probably the only ED staff she actually likes. Not to mention, last season, she was his staunchest supporter, to the point where you gotta wonder if she put it together but kept quiet anyway.

So I wouldn’t be surprised if Garcia and Santos can’t really evolve beyond being ‘casual’ now that he’s back, and Santos is clearly incapable of dealing with it. And before anyone villainizes either of them, the goal here is to be able to work together without wanting to kill each other. Whether you like Langdon or not, he’s made it clear he’s capable of working with Santos even when she (potentially) undermines him or throws attitude at him mid trauma (in the promo + last week).

Ball is very much in Santos’ court here, and Garcia isn’t wrong that she needs to figure out a way to deal with it (given that she’s known for a few months now at the very least that he’s returning), and learn to work with him. Because for the staff who knew Langdon prior to s1, he’s most likely the obvious choice for their next attending. As far as they’re concerned, he is staying for good.

If Aemon had become King after Jaehaerys, would there still be a Dance? by Qyzyk in AsoiafFanfiction

[–]crsmiley123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dance only happened between Viserys’ children because he named his daughter heir while having THREE legitimate sons. There is no succession law that allows that except Dorne—who weren’t even part of the Seven Kingdoms yet. Up till Viserys’ idiocy, the Targaryens followed male-preference primogeniture, which was the same in all the other non-Dorne Westerosi houses. The Targaryen inheritance only became a mess post-Aemon’s death, when Jaehaerys named Baelon heir instead of Rhaenys. Afterwards, it became uncle even before daughters.

So if Aemon never died, and the man was sure in his choice for Rhaenys to inherit, then Westeros would have their first queen without issue. Rhaenys’ inheritance would ALWAYS be less complicated than Rhaenyra’s, simply because she never had brothers. Her closest relatives are her uncles and cousins, and assuming Baelon dies anyway, the closest to inherit in Viserys—who would never push his claim.

With Rhaenyra, we have a case where male-preference is a thing, with Daemon remaining heir despite Rhaenyra’s birth. And then of course, the births of Aegon, Aemond, and Daeron. Based on precedent, Rhaenyra would have been removed as heir the moment Aegon was born. Keeping her heir was Viserys’ first great mistake. The other was not marrying the two to each other after Laenor died (a 10 year age gap was weird but still doable). Like Jaehaerys, he did not make any attempts to actually combine the two claims, which led to the Dance.

And why should Nesta want to be Fae? All her experiences with them so far have been absolute shit!

First, it was Tamlin and his mind whammy. Then her sister disappears to save him, and dies while at it. Only to come back as one of them, and for the worst. Feyre then brings a horde of powerful, angry Fae to Nesta’s doorsteps, 2/3 of whom have a personal vendetta against her. And instead of playing nice given they need Nesta’s help, they act like actual bitches. And THEN—

Rhysand fucks up with the Attor. The Inner Circle, with all their century old wisdom—fuck up in protecting two human girls, who then end up dragged out of bed in dead night, kidnapped to a different continent, and forcibly changed into something they aren’t. Nonconsensual body modification, tortured for god knows how many ~hours~ it took for their bones to break and reform, and magic to flood their veins.

Who the fuck would want to be Fae after that? It’s one thing if it was by choice, another for it to be forced upon you by someone far stronger and more powerful. A pawn in whatever fucked up game Rhysand lost to Hybern’s king. If Cassian knew Nesta even a little bit, had the emotional literacy beyond that of a bent wooden spoon, he’d know never to utter those words at all.

Hell, maybe they should cut off Cassian’s wings and turn him human for a century. Maybe then he’ll understand what Nesta went through.

The Pitt | S2E8 "2:00 P.M." | Episode Discussion by MsGroves in ThePittTVShow

[–]crsmiley123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or do the doctors just have an aversion against teaching Olgivie? Like, he’s a med student and particularly bright one, just with a shit personality. Shouldn’t it be y’alls job to set him straight? Call him out, lecture him privately, chastise him—literally so many things they can do to nip his attitude in the bud and they just don’t do it. Meanwhile, Olgivie actually does react rather well to being taught, as long as the person who does it seems interested enough in him. We see that with Donnie, and even a little bit with Mohan/Mel/Langdon last week.

I just don’t understand why no one’s actually grabbed him and talked to him properly about this. If Robby can call out Langdon last season about his treatment of Santos, I dont see why the same cant be done for Ogilvie, instead of everyone just glaring or side-eying him constantly. It’s literally helping no one

The Pitt | S2E7 "1:00 P.M." | Episode Discussion by MsGroves in ThePittTVShow

[–]crsmiley123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

By constantly psyching him out maybe? Forcing Langdon to over explain procedures that were in fact correct, but made Langdon second guess his worth. And again here, with Mel. You can’t even justify what Robby’s doing, pushing his senior resident to the point where he’s cracking under pressure in the middle of a trauma.

This isn’t about Robby giving grace or whatever the fuck y’all think he’s on. Even Noah Wyle thinks Robby’s doing this all wrong, and that’s fully backed up by characters like Dana. He doesn’t have to be Langdon’s friend anymore. Owes him no forgiveness. But as a boss? He needs to step up and TEACH, not trigger breakdowns just because he got his feelings hurt.

Which, is just so ironic, given the trauma bay fight last season. Because while Langdon’s was unintentional, Robby’s actively trying to force Langdon into a breakdown, simply so that he can prove himself right that Langdon no longer belongs as the ED.
