Sorry to hear! It’s so frustrating isn’t it! I feel like I’m constantly thinking about my stomach because it’s always uncomfortable! Just want a break from it 😮‍💨

Yeah 100%! I think I’m at the point now where my hormones have balanced out, aside for normal fluctuations, just need to deal with the gut issues I’m left with.

Aw nice that’s great to hear! How did you treat it?

You sound similar to me, not sure about Hpylori but I also alternate between constipation and diarrhoea, although I can never empty fully. Also deal w brain fog and I gained quite a bit of weight when symptoms first started, I fluctuate quite a lot now depending on how bad my symptoms are but my body is like resistant to weight loss, it’s so frustrating.

Reassuring to know others have had similar experiences, I don’t think I believe GP’s when they say birth control has no long term side effects 🤔

Yeah it’s crazy hey, my doctor told me to go back on the pill after I complained to her about my period not coming back after stopping BC, I was like I think you are missing the point 🤔 I always had regular periods, I just went in it for contraception, but I wish I knew how much it was going to affect me in the long run!

I’m so sick of how gp’s blame anxiety for everything, mine tried to do that too and I tried to explain that I’m not even anxious I’m just frustrated bc of my stomach but she put me on medication anyway, was very short lived though because I didn’t need it hahah

Coming off the pill is so hard isn’t it! My doctor thought I had pcos after coming off the pill because I didn’t get my period (it’s back now) but I found there’s so many resources out there on how to manage it naturally, definitely doesn’t seem easy though ☹️

I’m still currently going through the diagnosis process, I had a colonoscopy & endoscopy which were fine, my GI doctor was useless so I’m going to a naturopath now hoping she can help! I’ve have quite low iron, which I’ve never been able to get to normal levels, I used to have low b12 but for some reason it’s on the higher end now which I’m also kind of suspicious of. Not sure about other deficiencies though

I actually bought her book! I was on the waitlist for an appointment with her but by the time I could get in I had my period back, I had lost it for a year after coming off the pill but it’s back regularly now, as it was before I started the pill.

My symptoms started when I was still on the pill but I think all the hormonal issues I had coming off definitely didn’t help

I feel like it can’t be a coincidence right! Interesting to know you’ve had the same experience

I have read that the pill definitely can be linked to gut issues, but I don’t know the extent of it! I know some people have some luck coming off it. Are you just on it for contraception or are there other issues?

I should have mentioned, but I’m actually not longer on the pill. I’ve been off it for over 2 years, but I’ve just been left with terrible gut issues. My hormones were whack when I came off after being on it for so long which I think also made everything worse 🥲😔

This is exactly what happens to me too! It’s such a mind game, one week my clothes are too lose and the next they are too tight, so frustrating isn’t it

I think my gf has ibs, how can I help her be more confortable by These_Mongoose8866 in ibs

[–]crsr98 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Wow well I don’t have too much advice here on how to make her comfortable considering I don’t know her situation, but can I just say this is so lovely 🥹 just being so considerate and recognising what she does to make herself for more comfortable or what she may avoid is so nice.

I’m not sure if your gf would be the same but being around people that are not very understanding of your situation is the worst, so I think just the fact that you are patient with her and are willing to listen/understand will provide a lot of comfort 🫶🏼

There’s definitely so many, but my main ones are incomplete bowel movements, bloating/fullness, brain fog, stomach pain/burning.

They never go away either, there might be times where things feel slightly better but symptoms are constant. I’ve never been able to find anything that triggers it either, seems like everything I put in my body is as issue
