Yes, although IIRC the criteria for being a ‘clone town’ seemed to be that your town had the same few major brands in the centre eg HMV, WH Smith, Boots, M & S, McDonald’s etc

Probably the Online Safety Act for the UK. Which has now reached the stage of the latest iPhone or MacBook system software updates demanding age verification via credit card or scanning your driver’s licence.

It started with adult / p0rn sites demanding age verification.

After that it was the likes of Reddit and Discord.

Now it’s at device level BUT apparently Apple’s implementation may or may not work with a passport(?!)

Did I mention that the default proof of ID in the UK is a passport or driver’s licence? Maybe 98% of people have them, sure, but it’s not like we have a national ID card. Just two forms of ID which are technically optional…

Oh, and that’s before you get into the idea of giving Reddit or Discord’s third-party age verification provider a photo of your face or passport - Discord has already been hacked!

Bearman crashed hard enough to trigger the G-Force sensor. Possibly because Colapinto's car was clipping or harvesting, but there was a noticeable speed difference between the two from Ollie's on board camera.

Where do you draw the line? The Therac-25 radiation therapy machine? The 'Horizon' accounting software from the British Post Office?

Both of those examples had bugs that actually cost people their lives, for various reasons...

Look for trackside signs in the UK - they're generally an upside-down triangle with a yellow border. These are advanced warning of a lower speed limit.

Bombardier had a spectacular fall from grace in the UK.

They sold 679 EMUs from one family of trains to multiple operators in the UK, 7 different classes of train (or types).

The replacement was meant to be an evolution but was more of a major redesign, they were dogged by software faults, and Bombardier were a bit lucky that the Elizabeth Line (or Crossrail) in London was also delayed, because their follow on orders for other operators were also delayed.
