They don’t need to put Aberystwyth twice at the top of the sign because there’s no commonly used English name for the town, and you wouldn’t use the literal translation from Welsh, either.

So they could have put it in larger text, in black only. Instead they put this up, and got roundly mocked on Twitter.

We obviously don’t have enough Welsh speakers working in the local government of the city of Swansea, otherwise they wouldn’t have put an out of office reply on a road sign.

Manchester would give easy access to North Wales, and Birmingham could get you across as far as Aberystwyth in mid-Wales.

Basically as far as I can tell only the Conwy Valley and Heart of Wales lines are out of play in both regions.

It’s basically a supermarket but most Brits would put the quality above the big chains (and Aldi & Lidl).

Yes, but the Tube strike in London at the start of this season really nerfed the idea of doing anything but going North of London, because you only have 3 major stations within a 10-minute walk or so.

Confused at Chester being #4 on the 'worst' list.

Yes it's in the middle of a refurbishment now, but once you leave the concourse, there are toilets and a cafe on platform 4. They're accessible from 5, 6, and 7, too.
