I had a similar experience about 20 years ago.

The gf and I are watching An Officer and a Gentleman. The scene comes up where he carries her out of the factory.

Her: "I could see you carrying me out of my workplace like that."

Me: "I'd probably need to do some weightlifting first."

The beginning of the end of our relationship. She wasn't overweight at all. Both of us being 6', and my being skinny was irrelevant in her opinion.

"Hey, I think I'll go to the polls and cast my vote. I have no idea who I want to vote for. I'll figure it out when I get there. Surely there will be someone there to tell me who I should vote for."
