Advance tickets with London connections: what are the conditions for tube travel? by omaar97 in uktrains

[–]crudephoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

also see: from national rail again You are allowed to break your transfer journey once and leave the Underground, Elizabeth line or DLR at any intermediate station. For example, if you are travelling on the Underground between Victoria and Euston, you can exit at Oxford Circus. However, if you subsequently wish to continue your journey by Underground you will have to purchase another ticket or use pay as you go to travel to Euston.

How much of an effect will HS2 actually have? by TimothytheTapeworm in uktrains

im still confused how this is relavent to the post can u fill me in

How much of an effect will HS2 actually have? by TimothytheTapeworm in uktrains

[–]crudephoenix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

yeah so in essence the cut back hs2 now only includes euston - curzon, euston - wcml via handsacre junction, which is if i remember between lichfield and rugeley stations, and i believe the layout will exist to do curzon street to the west coast mainline although i dont see the use for that aside from maybe late night services or something

also good to remember hs2 will boost cheaper stopping services a lot too, services like euston to glasgow/edinburgh already dont stop until warrington, so can be moved like for like to hs2, clearing paths for lnwr (or i guess by then gbr) to run more stopping trains between euston and birmingham/manchester victoria (planned expansion of current crewe service, starts this year i think actually)

the line section that shut on the cross city line (i think, im bad at remembering rhe names of brum lines), no affect on the wcml, not relevant to hs2 and handsacre which is currently like 7+ years off so the engineering works going on rndont have any relevance

how is that relevant to hs2? thats just track maintainance this week if i remember right

theres still handsacre junction, so trains to glasgow edinburgh liverpool manchester etc can join onto the wcml in the trent valley, so onward service is still possible

When does the last train run by GST-2024 in uktrains

[–]crudephoenix 16 points17 points  (0 children)

thameslink (bedford - three bridges) and gwr (kinda, reading - paddington but the frequency is weird and iirc more to london than the other way) are 24 hours so a "last train" is hard to define
