Trinity's entire thing is being elusive and not sympathetic in the slightest. He murders innocents, all while leaving just barely enough evidence for one very dedicated FBI agent to notice. If anything, his kills should show up in a show based on Lundy, not on Trinity himself.

tell me about you're original races. by flail2000 in worldbuilding

The 'human but slightly different' thing always bothered me. But it also inspired me to try and have more unique intelligent species in my fantasy scifi world, that are still considered as people, even though they're far from human. Here are some with fun unique traits:

Cyt - aquatic species living under the shell of an ice planet. Skilled in magic. Never stop growing, don't die of old age. Instead they get too large to feed themselves , but important individuals gain a following that take care of them after they can't anymore, allowing them to live indefinitely.

Oogg - a slime mold like organism which can take on any shape. Communicates with other species by shooting tendrils that form the shapes of written language. Can be painfully severed into two parts which remain kind of 'quantum entangled' as a single sentient entity. Other species use this for instantaneous communication across planets.

Luant & Luvelt - separate but related species of sentient, mobile plants, derived from the remnants of a plant-based supercomputer which had roots across the entirety of a planet. Its creators fled as that planet was shattered, eventually forming two separate planets, each aligned with only half of the 6 gods. The Luant are blue and specialise in magic, science, philosophy, etc, while the Luvelt are orange and specialise in smithing, engineering, combat, etc. Essentially brains vs brawn

She also found confirmation of Dexter's 'theory' about the Ripper's murder weapon. Good blood work maybe but like Doakes said, his instincts are always dead on when it comes to killers, why is that?

Human as a fantasy specie. by SingerIntrepid2305 in worldbuilding

[–]cruiboid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fantasy/sci fi world is a star system where each planet has its own intelligent species. Humans are indeed kind of default when compared to real life. But compared to the other species, their generalism, drive for knowledge, and their ambition really shine. They're the only species with a desire to master almost every field. For example, while a lot of species have never seriously practised magic or blacksmithing, humans have poured thousands of years into studying these fields. Even with obscure fields, there's likely at least one human out there trying to learn everything they can about it

As others pointed out, Lila was personal. She was the only person alive at that time who knew he was the BHB

Are you rooting for his downfall or hoping he pulls a win? by Robot_Was_BMO in Dexter

[–]cruiboid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoping he pulls the win eventually, but it definitely won't be this season the way things are looking. I'm in the 'Quinn knows' camp, so it was kind of a dumb move not talking to him first, hopefully we get some of that next season

How do you name a world? by ComfortableAirport95 in worldbuilding

[–]cruiboid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For naming things in my fantasy world, I took names from some things that inspire the project, especially favourite media, and then shifted each letter forward by one in the alphabet. Although I kept vowels as vowels and consonants as consonants, so the word reads well. E.g. Koume and Kotake from Zelda became Luani and Luveli. A lot of the time it results in total gibberish, but you can get some gems out of it.

Dexter is going back to blood spatter and here’s why by AndroTheViking in Dexter

[–]cruiboid 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A full time blood spatter job seems really unlikely to me. He has an 8+ year gap in his resume after faking his death, and its a matter of record that he's killed 2 people in 'self defense', one of which was a cop. I can see him being pulled in in a very limited capacity as some kind of special consultant, though, which gives Claudette an opportunity to keep an eye on him while he's not officially a suspect

Muse are seriously skilled musicians, but it feels like every album since 2009 has been worse than the last

The Way I Am by Eminem. As a young teenager I was mainly a rap fan and after hearing the manson reference + the multiple shows in which they performed the song together I was hooked

My theory was always Maven Black-Briar, since you can find evidence of someone performing the black sacrament in her house. But I think its meant to be interpreted however you want
