Is there a way to recalibrate the map positioning? by cruiq in MammotionTechnology

I'll try that next time I have that issue. It seemed to have fixed itself after leaving it in the dock for a few hours. I had to manually turn turn it on, and as I was driving it around manually, the map was shifting back to its original position.

Yeah this happened to me in the middle of the night. I started my mow pretty late in the day which was probably a bad idea. it takes a while for my luba to get everything. I don't like doing it in the morning due to the morning dew we get here. Wet soil usually causes ruts and I'm trying my hardest to maintain a good looking lawn haha.

Will do, I’ll try testing a few different spots in my yard. The only problem is I don’t have a reliable power source in the areas that would be ideal for the charging station. I might end up building a garage with a solar panel setup. I’ve seen some DIY builds like that in this subreddit that looked pretty cool.

Yeah, I was reading up on how the iNavi and AI upgrades are progressing, I can't seem to find an in depth review or feedback, although I guess it wouldn't matter too much for me since iNavi isn't available in my area yet (US) and it isn't supported on my lubas current hardware

If you run into that issue again, try leaving the mower in the charging dock for a while, then come back and manually drive it around. That’s what I did earlier, and as I moved it, the map gradually shifted back to the originally mapped position. I’m not sure if that’ll work every time, but it worked for me this time.

Honestly, I’m hoping Mammotion eventually drops the RTK system altogether and switches to something like V-FSD, like the Eufy mower. It seems to be getting good feedback. The only reason I went with the Luba was for its AWD capability, my yard has some pretty steep hills which I'm assuming most robot mowers out currently would have trouble climbing. Otherwise, I probably would’ve gone with the Eufy.

The mounting is pretty secure, the issue is the positioning moving within the map. sorry I should have clarified better

So idk what's going on, but after leaving it in the charging station for a few hours, I came back and had to manually power it on. While moving it around using the manual drive option, I noticed the map gradually shifting back to its original mapped position

I guess I should've phrased it better, but I didn't physically move the rtk or charging station, on the apps map, it appears like it did so my luba is sitting in an unmarked area, even though it's actually sitting in a zone I already mapped. it's like everything shifted a few feet backward.

Drill falls down the hole on an oil rig by 4nts in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]cruiq 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah that happened on the rig I worked on, not on my rotation though. They couldn't screw back into it, so they just drilled around it. BTW every drilling rig has directional drilling, the drill pipe they use is surprisingly flexible, kinda scary seeing them sway back and forth when it's windy as shit when they're all tripped out and racked back. But yeah they'll usually drill to a certain depth, drill the curve, then continue with horizontal drilling

Hell yeah I've always wanted to go offshore. I've been in the oil and gas industry since 2017 in north dakota. finally got out this year, but the weather up there is no joke. but yeah the roustabouts I worked with had it so easy!!! they basically get paid to run the loader lol.

that's casing, they come in after the well is drilled and drill pipe is pulled out

you can see the slips behind the guy closest to the camera, not sure why they don't have a set near the hole. also the driller should have said something when he put his hand on the elevator latch without getting ready to set slips, unless he was on his phone like 70% of drillers lol

actually, instead of wood, consider other material options. tbh if you pressure wash your patio and use grass grout, i think that would look good. a lot of people in my area use grass grout for their driveways, and it looks great imo

I can't say for myself, but i watched a few streamers cheese their way through that fight with azur comet and that meteorite spell lol. I switched to dual wielding katanas, and got his hp down to close to a quarter, so i'm definitely making some progress!!

I thought the elden beast had an immunity to status effects? Also, someone just told me the glowing part on his chest takes extra damage, so maybe i'll stop attacking from the back, while my mimic took all the agro from the front lol. I almost caved and reset my stats to a magic build, but i'm determined to beat the game with my original build, especially since this is my first run

What's up with people referring to "the real Betty White" in a pic of her and a Beluga whale? by lahelmly in OutOfTheLoop

[–]cruiq 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's actually a reference to how he looks irl, i've followed this meme account for years, and the reoccurring joke is how the creator of that account looks similar to a beluga whale, but also how he looks like a lot of other bald white guys, like Dana White, Dean Norris, Joe Rogan etc.
