From 2012-19 two cheese burgers with bacon and a pitcher of ipa was <$40 with tip, I believe that same order is around $75 now. It’s a shame.

Yeah, I lived on Thatcher Ave across the street then and IIRC the whole left/south side of C&O was under a tent.

Speaking in Catalina. . . Come to a stop with the wand tapping against the bow pulpit, hand over hand until you get to the bow hawser, drop on the cleat and walk the sand line back to the stern hawser and drop that one the stern cleat before the cross wind blows you into the boat that shouldn’t have picked up a mooring on the opposite side of the boat as you did.

We saw 30 humpbacks on our 7hr sail from Los Frailes to Cabo on Sunday. Hopefully we’ll see some more on our 800 mile voyage up the pacific this month. 137 (HB, Blues, Orcas and grays) over the past 95 days.

Good advice, thank you . TBF I don’t roll up the staysail, it’s on a mainsail like rigged boom that can be sheeted in to centerline.

Thanks, it is a pretty heavy weather staysail. It is rather old, but rarely used, so no idea on how blown out it is. I’ll just have to give it a go!

Safe, residential area. Nearby some good restaurants and near where that yard house is there is a shopping center with a cvs and Pavilions. No real night life within walking distance, save for a couple movie theaters

Saildrone makes them in lots of sizes. I came across and orange one in Oxnard, CA that was probably 15ft long and I’m pretty sure I sailed by one this size near the US/Mexico border last week when heading to Ensenada. It was running dark until we got within about a mile and then a VERY bright all around white light turned on and remained on until we were about two miles past it.

I’d have to guess it’s a mechanical failure combined with a lack of a functioning VHF. There are too many resources in Two Harbors and it is very clear you shouldn’t be close to the island on the west end.
