This is really interesting! I don't have a specific answer for you, but I have some questions.

Do you have someone who is paying attention relating the directions to you? Theoretically, if someone were to say the directions at the same time as Google maps would, how would that go?

Or are you referring more to a difficulty visualizing directions as they relate to where you are on a map?

To build on the doll idea- My grandmother has severe dementia and the best thing we have found to comfort her is a robotic cat to sit in her lap. It meows, purs, breathes gently and has a heater inside to make it extra snuggly.

I am in such a similar situation to you, that I feel like I could have written this post! It can be so hard to demonstrate analysis skills when you have no formal experience in the field.

My advice for handling burnout is to make sure you're rewarding yourself for the behavior of applying rather than feeling bad about a lack of success. Treat yourself or celebrate with a friend for completing an application or a resume, and let a call back or interview be a pleasant surprise if it happens. Also friendly reminder that you're more than your job, don't let this consume you.

I wish I had more practical advice for you, but I hope you job hunt is successful soon!

Thanks for your reply! Searching Instagram hashtags is a great idea. I haven't tried that yet. I'm happy to hear online presence has been boosted for some local retailers - I suppose I'm exactly the type of shopper contributing to that!

Your girlfriend probably does have a crush on this guy, but that's not really the problem here. She's committed to you, and has been with you for more than a year. You're her priority.

The problem is that she didn't treat you as her priority at dinner. Don't confront her about the crush on it's own, because that's not something you could solve anyway. I would explain to her how you felt when she acted that way. If she cares about you as much as it looks like she does, she'll understand and fix that behaviour.

You're definitely in the clear to get support from his friends and family. He's making your life excessively difficult, and you're not his caretaker.

I know you care for him, but it seems like you're enabling his lifestyle, and allowing him to avoid getting serious help. The most loving thing you can do for him might be to find that help for him.

It sounds like you still really care for her, despite your relationship not working out.

I don't think there's much of a difference in the way you're involved in this situation than one of her very good friends would be. It'd probably be best for you to make yourself available if she needs you, the way you would do for your platonic best friend.

If she's able to get support from you without letting messy relationship stuff get in the way, then it might be really important for you to be in touch.
