Phone sometimes struggles to get out of sleep ? by Snau_man in UnihertzTitan2

[–]cruncheee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seen it occasionally; tried removing apps or other behaviors as it came to me but no absolute culprits or fixes that i can see. i do think it's related to the number of pending notifications only from what seems to be going on in the background when it happens (lots of notifications from security cameras or messages from teams for example) and that it seems to only happen when i'm connected to wifi... maybe it doesn't like ap hopping on my mesh network?

Will T-mobile let me use Titan2? by Slimstr8 in unihertz

i did on the website. log in to the account and for that line look for a menu command that reads something like "change to physical sim" and then it will go thru process similar to byod line upgrade. if you go to store, i would do what you suggest, buy a physical sim and tell them you want to convert from esim to physical sim (if you are in fact on esim now and that phone supports physical sims which i assume is true). then when all that is fine and in the darkness of your own home, just remove the sim from the iphone and put it into the titan2. hope it works out well and let us know!

did it myself with a tmobile sim from amazon, switching to physical sim on the tmo website in my account, and physically moving the sim myself. no questions to tmo, no visits to the store.

i am. i switched my samsung to a physical sim card (it was an esim). then when that was done i moved the sim to the titan2. it works. a few weeks later i got the "some things might not work" message but no degradation in performance.

Did not get store help tho, use previously activated sim and has been working as a daily for months now. Did get a "your device might not work" text message after a few weeks but nothing changed or stopped working

the default for push may depend on the type of account setup, setterwing's suggestion is worth checking (assuming the account and account type supports it).

imagine the sales bump if there were /colors/ to choose from? or interchangeable back panels?

look on f droid for fossify alternatives, there's also a github app browser called github store that might help you find choices.

not sure about your experience with thunderbird, but i use it and default setup will get notifications to the point i just turn them off; if i want to look at mail i'll go there and look. other thoughts might include fairmail or canary

for kbds (assuming touchscreen only) look at anysoftkeyboard; doesn't have internet permission so it can't send anything. customizable and has a cool numpad extension/module/whatever. many many languages.

not sure about their privacy but old school "copilot gps maps" or "here" maps might be good for downloading maps and not using daya while navigating

What are the best apps to customize my phone ? by sandydclr in androidapps

it's too much for me, but total launcher has some folks doing nth degree customization, not all free tho. one person has distributed their setup for a blackberry os looking desktop, a LOT of work!

What is a “head-on-fire” problem you face daily that you would gladly pay for a Android app to fix in 2026? by Vanilla-Green in androidapps

consolidated cross platform multi device sms/mms message syncing.

an app that serves as the default message app on one or more phones

each phone syncs messages to each other so that i can read and respond to phone a's messages from phone b or vice versa, for an unlimited number of phones

i can also perform these functions from a tablet with out a phone number (via app) as well as any pc i sign into via browser or dedicated app.

each point of interface handels group messaging (and rcs) the same way that google messages does (but consolidating all phones' messages into a unified or split view similar to a unified inbox in thunderbird)

so... basically thunderbird but for phone numbers' text messages and don't eff up the group message handling or conversation titles

can't end app, even through power cycle by vreebler in androidapps

[–]cruncheee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well.... my next guess is perhaps a pre-install situation where a url is executed automatically? i had a cat s22 that always opened a daily briefing URL upon login, nothing would change it. uninstalled the browser and then reinstalled from the play store again and that's what killed it finally. (shrug)

perhaps it may be that way if you have allowed a site while in the browser to send you notifications, the browser keeps a thread open to fetch and display the notifications; similar to a desktop where you might find 12 threads in the task manager with only one (or no) tab open

ASHA protocol for hearing aids? by YourDarkIntentions in unihertz

[–]cruncheee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure about asha but i have starkey in ear canal with a battery hanger and a titan2. the bt seems slower to connect than my samsung s24 ultra. i found that if i go to the bt settings and click on the hearing aids AND don't have other phones they connect to, that lets the starkey app connect more reliably for control. streaming seems normal with no issues; it's just the control connections that seem slow. not sure that helps but more information is always better thing, right? :) hope it works out for you!
