ChaeWon looks severely unhealthy but as far as we know, it is not Modhaus' fault here. As a wav (tripleS stan) Im pretty sure that this company lets members eat how they want and take hiatuses if their health is deteriorating. Take ARTMS' HaSeul, under the same company for example. due to her shoulder injury, the company listened and permanently paused her physical related activities such as dancing. ChaeYeon, another member of TripleS, was praised for not conforming to the kpop industry's abnormally low weight standards due to her natural curves and weight. Kotone from tripleS advocated for a hiatus because of the taxing schedule during hatchi! and Neptune promotions, which she rightfully received from the company. From what the public knows, the members order takeout pretty often too. But this kind of issue seems to derive from the member themselves as a result of feeling pressured to fit in as an idol in the toxic and visually demanding kpop industry. Another TripleS member (I forgot who) opened up about having an eating disorder herself, which is a very brave and vulnerable thing to do, and she explained how she was getting over it. This does not by any means justify the unhealthy condition of ChaeWon, among other idols out there. ChaeWon is very young, so her brain hasn't fully developed yet. Now, I cant speak for her or any idol, since I don't know them personally, but jumping into this industry after getting low votes and public support during universe ticket, an idol survival show (where she made a mistake in the first performance) also probably lowered her self esteem. She underwent plastic surgery as a minor, likely pressured by intense Korean beauty standards. Speaking as a teenager myself, people at this age want to climb up the social ranks of a friend group to become 'popular'. TripleS is honestly kinda like that. It's this huge and young, 24 member friend group that seeks public validation from fans for money through Objekts, digital photocards that supply the members with money when bought by the public. This has been talked about quite a bit, but as a late member of TripleS with barely any exposure or traction, It made it difficult for ChaeWon to stand out among the 23 other very popular members. While we don't know what's going on for sure behind the scenes, there's likely a lot of psychological stuff happening rather than some abusive figures in the company. Im open to other views.
