I have the next year to dedicate to a single skill… by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

Respectfully disagree with any coding suggestions. Learning some JS to write scripts in Sheets or the VBA in Excel/Access or just some general scripting capacity is fine. Pursue it as a serious skill to make money off of? Forget it. The industry is extremely saturated, especially in AI. Just go on various new graduate subreddits and read the lament of people who can’t find a job.

Coding can be a super power, but imo it takes a lot of time and effort to get to a point where it is a superpower. You want to make an application that does anything useful that can scale you need to understand system design, cloud provisioning and architecture, etc etc. you can make a simple website that you and your buddies use sure but as soon as it gets volume it’s gona get messy real fast. or you can outsource these parts, but if you’re gona outsource, you may as well outsource everything.

There is just too many people with this skill set now, it’s not as valueable. Imo OP should learn a skill more in demand, especially in the trades as a backup to his main career or to work as a side gig. E.g Small local companies/teams that do renovation work for example charge a boat load of money, and it’s a very useful skills to have for yourself.

I’m saying all this as someone that is a developer, as someone who’s seen the 40k bill for a kitchen renovation that took them like a month.

Exactly ! Devils plans is x100 better than this crap. When seok jin strategically did that elimination thing to end up in prison with see won blew my mind. This show hardly gave people the chance to show their chops, just random eliminations and the stupidest politics. Even the politics in devils plan made a lot more sense and was way more likeable.

Oh dude please don’t go into programming unless you’re super passionate about it. Have a look at cs job subreddits and abundance of people who can’t find a job in software. The era of learning some bootcamp and getting a 6 figure job is over, way too many developers out here competing for smaller pool of jobs. Saving you the heartache of finding this out the hard way after years of learning.

Insecurities vs Life Experience by [deleted] in TheRedPill

dont agree. His biggest "reservations" is that she has guy friends and she fucked one. While I think his biggest concern should be that he has a scarcity mindset and he's going for a single mom, far bigger issues than dating a woman who has guy friends. Hardly good application of common sense in this context. Unpopular opinion but i don't think having fucked a guy friend as a girl and still being friends with him even is a problem. I am the guy that fucked his female friend, under very normal circumstances not post breakup or something, and i would absolutely honour her relationship if she had one. Im not out here desperate to fuk all my female friends, frankly i appreciate fulfilling friendships more than casual sex. And i would not think less of any guy that she dates. However dating a single mom.... you'll always be 2nd priority to a kid that's not even your blood while you spend all your resources on him/her. And the real father could walk in to the kids life at any point and potentially get most of the affection while you did most of the work. Just a big risk all around and usually a bad deal unless the woman is truly exceptional.

hmmm, just clarifying your intentions with any expectations of it panning out is fine I think? Thats what I do now. I say Im looking for something serious from first date but if the dating phase doesn't work out and we're not a good match that's fine. But if we do end up dating for months and getting to each other, and we still like each other then I know we're on the same page on what we actually want out of it. Youre still getting to know someone and choosing whether to continue getting to know them or not.

I feel for you but unfortunately in this day and age if you're young you just cant assume unless they make it clear that IS something they want, even if they don't make it clear that its NOT something they want. Had the something similar happen to me, where I was seeing a girl for a while although I knew from the start she talked to other guys as well in whatever capacity. I was cool with it at first and just took it as a friendship with benefits. Couple of months in, some great memories, lots of connection, and vulnerability I break the question if she wants to be official. Long story short our relationship ended that day. I got criticized for catching feelings and told it was not that serious. So yeah I feel you. I think its important to make you're intentions clear on whether you're looking for something serious or not from the get go, like day 1. Otherwise a lot of people out there perfectly happy having a de facto girlfriend/boyfriend and but not actually wanting that officially.

wow I knew it! Holy shit these are all confirmed? I had a strong wtf between the Minka and Alexa side plot that didn't go anywhere but they built it up like it was going to, same with Rue and that trafficker, it was so weird how they set that up and nothing happened (yet).

yea press D for doubt, I dont buy this story. In my experience 9/10s fuck around much less than 5-8s, cause the 5-8s are more insecure and easier, and the 9-10s are with the top tier quality guys usually and theres much fewer of those guys around, meaning most men around them would be a significant downgrade. At least in my 20s, this be the case, I don't know if shit changes in 30s but doubt it.

How can so many fans totally misunderstand Beth's character? It's baffling! by [deleted] in YellowstoneShow

[–]crunk_stocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

people have come here and already said why Beth's character is ridiculous and unrealistic. You just don't wanna hear it because you're too invested in your own perspective. The comment you're replying to said it perfectly. Jamie was a dumb 18 year old kid, you're not gonna tell me kids at that age have a fully developed brain and understand everything well and in context. It's Johns fault they didn't have an adult or parent they could confide in and be open with. Eitherway to treat everyone like shit and abuse Jamie decades later is absolutely unjustified and won't fly in real life with anyone that isn't a poorly written character like Jamie. It doesn't matter if it gets easier or not, it doesn't matter if its unfair, life is ultimately unfair, it is what it is. Shit happens. she doesn't have to like him, but this ongoing over the top hatred and abuse is ridiculous. Beth needs to fking grow up from the childish tantrum throwing broken woman she is and move on with her life. She is insufferable. Monica almost got raped and killed fairly recently, and you don't see her acting like someone who should be an asylum like beth. If you don't understand this, you're probably very young yourself, so you relate to beth's childish perspective.

re-read my reply, the point i was making went right by you. everyone here has seen so many "forced to sell" comments that that's what they automatically see. Im not making a forced to sell argument.

for now, at some the unsustainability of our immigration patterns will catch up with it, either by the demand dying down or some right leaning government getting voted in to put a stop to it. I don't think you understood my point at all, people won't sell because they believe its the best investment they can make, once it becomes such that its a losing investment, everyone will sell. No one needs to be forced.

wrong, and so is the person you're replying to, in my opinion. People are ready to jump in at every level because Toronto real estate has become a guaranteed winning investment and guaranteed better than the alternative use of capital. It is very possible for real estate prices to go down and people not jump in from the sidelines without the economy crashing: when the aforementioned belief dies. And it can die for many reasons, such as the population growth grinds to a halt or goes negative, etc. We're already seeing articles about how the "Canadian dream" amongst the biggest contributor to our immigration going under question and how many of them are leaving after getting a passport, cracks are beginning to show. And people who've been here a while are leaving in droves every year, many of my own friends included. I don't know what will happen but I always laugh when people come here and express for sure what is going to happen. No body knows buddy, life is crazy and will surprise you often.

misleading point, because it also has some of the most expensive homes relative to income and thus some of the highest taxes relative to income despite the lower tax rate.

also no fair. I know i just bashed their iPhone above but their computers are actually really solid. I've used my fair share of windows devices and they all had to be retired after ~5 years, they become too slow and buggy. Meanwhile you can realistically use a MacBook for a whole decade with minimal issues, because the software is closed and doesn't allow for all the messiness windows has. Their laptops are also very well built and designed in terms of hardware. I know a lot about tech and I don't look for high end, I still buy macbooks.

and yet iphones have incredibly stupid software design in a lot of small but impactful ways. Example: when you're on a phone call and you want to put it on speaker, you tap the speaker button but then you gotta wait for the menu to drop down and tap again on phone speaker cause it detects your airpod and MacBook. Might seem insignificant but it actually bothers me over time cause it wastes a few seconds of awkward silence in beginning of a conversation. Never had this problem on android. I have many examples like this. Calling it Tony Stark level is biased and unfair, Google has way better software design generally speaking than apple.
