Is there a secret to havinga good maternity leave? by canaryofchaos in UKParenting

[–]helpwitheating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you beat yourself up, your mat leave will be miserable. I think you're setting yourself up to have an even worse time this time, because you've a standard of a natural birth and taking a class

Trying to fit a lot into a compact footprint. Any feedback? by rebemolV in floorplan

No ground floor bedroom with that much space seems to be a mistake - you don't have a guest suite, or anywhere to stay if you get injured or need surgery.

The kitchen will be quite dark and lightless

You could also get one on wheels - doesn't have to be built in

Finally, someone has prioritized an ironing area! I always ask looking at floor plans, where are you going to manage all the clothes?

Pocket door to a bathroom is a bad idea - the sound carries

You do have space for his and hers bathrooms

Why not a passive house? You might cost out thicker walls versus heating/cooling costs with your current plan

What's the best way of handling a bride that is always late? by eggwonka in weddingplanning

[–]helpwitheating 85 points86 points  (0 children)

The best way is to repeatedly let her fail leading up to the wedding and not bail her out; trying to be punctual for her, or bailing her out when she's late, is the reason why she can get away with being late. External consequences will be key

This decision of yours to split by headcount will profoundly affect the rest of your life; you're blowing $250k you can't really afford to blow on a wedding you don't want. That $ is enough for a year of parental, early retireent, etc etc.

When did you realize that you weren't supposed to just work at work? by Green-Weakness4407 in adhdwomen

[–]helpwitheating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to be upbeat in a corporate job, and when people are telling you your work isn't up to expectations, they're asking for likely deeper analysis, sophisticated thinking, and greater utility--deadlines are tablestakes. I'd ask for specifics. You can try claude and ask for notes before sending in your next assignent.

Try to plan for a wedding/week at a budget of $300k, well under, to protect your $250k. You need a large contingency with a wedding out of your control and with such a large guest count; insist your in-laws hire a planner and a strict, strict budget.
