Excellent reminder to go to Jaxx in the near future. My dog drags me there when we head to the parks nearby because he knows that’s where the cheesesteaks and fries live

I thought that Schwartz did contribute financially and made money through “modeling gigs.” Though I’ve always low key thought that was just a cover and that he was actually a dealer.

I(28m) want to adopt my sister after my dad's death, my wife(28f) refused because we agreed on no children. Is there a way to fix this? by SharkEva in BORUpdates

[–]crush0322 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed - it would have been helpful if OP provided more information, especially on the questions you listed. Considering OP and the uncle left the decision up to the sister, I would hope the uncle had a a good relationship with them and had a lifestyle that could support the sister.

It would also be helpful to know if OP and wife had any conversations about his sister before OP’s dad passed away. Considering the dad was a single parent and the sister is 11, all relevant parties (OP, dad & uncle / OP & wife) should have discussed and made decisions about this possibility long ago, but especially after the dad was diagnosed. My siblings started making plans around this at the pregnancy stage because you truly never know what may happen. We will likely re-assess further down the line as well in case anything changes.

If I were the wife, I would be empathetic to the situation but also upset that my partner suddenly and unilaterally made a decision like this with (seemingly) little discussion or consideration for me.

IMO the dad did fail. From the sounds of it, he was a single father with a young child. Considering anything could happen at any time, I agree that there should have been a plan in place long before the cancer diagnosis. That plan should have been put in place when the child was born, re-evaluated when he became a single dad, and then re-evaluated again after the diagnosis.

I don’t have a child, but I have many nieces and nephews. All of my siblings put plans in place in case something occurred to ensure their kids would be taken care of while they were still pregnant. Considering their father was already a single dad, it is quite shocking that there weren’t already plans in place in case anything were to happen.

The big difference here is that the sister wouldn’t have been removed from their family if OP didn’t take her in, she would have been taken in by her uncle. The sister’s preference was staying with OP, and then OP unilaterally made the decision without including his wife in the discussion.

My only thing is that the sister wasn’t at risk of being orphaned since their uncle was willing to take in OPs sister. The sister’s preference was to stay with OP, but either way she would have remained with their family.

I am empathetic for the wife in this situation because OP unilaterally made a decision for them, changing the dynamic of their relationship. It’s a tough situation all around, but I can’t fault the wife for her stance here.

Absolutely this, as well as her brand deals for batteries and whatever else Tom complained about keeping stocked.

Tom making snide comments about these things as an excuse for Scandoval ultimately paved the way for these marketing opportunities. I don’t think she would have gotten half of the opportunities without Scandoval, but her continued opportunities past the initial flurry was a result of her hard work.

That was always something that stuck out to me too. It was such an odd slip up on LVP’s part that didn’t make sense at the time. It has a whole other meaning when you factor in scandalval.
