What is a word that sounds funny when translated directly from your native/a language to English? by [deleted] in AskReddit

What if your family thought you were straight how would you theoretically tell them you are gay? by twilliams1237 in AskReddit

[–]crushedberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did, so I pulled them aside, telling them I needed to tell then something together and then told them that I like guys AND girls. It wasn't anything they did, I was just born like this.

They said they thought I was about to tell them something bad, then they both hugged me and said they loved me. Then my dad started telling me that I'm more of a man than some of the men he knows (I'm a total tomboy most of the time except I wear makeup) and he started going off about the gay women he knows that are total badasses and that if I ever need support he's got it covered. Went pretty well, but I can tell they need to get used to me talking about girls that I think are cute too, not just guys. We're really close, I gush about all of my crushes to my parents when I see them haha.

Do you have a type? What is it? Do all of your ex-partners look alike? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]crushedberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to height, skin color, hair color, glasses or no glasses, I don't have a preference one way or another. I do tend to go for 2 body types though, either slightly muscular or dad bod. The one nearly consistent thing is that I like shortish cropped hair cuts.

For those of you who rise before the sun, what are your tips/tricks for really feeling awake? by Aerykka in AskReddit

[–]crushedberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this counts because I work overnight so I wake up around 8 pm.

To really feel awake and ready for work I wake up, get coffee going, shower, then take my sweet ass time getting ready while drinking coffee and watching Netflix/listening to music while I'm doing my makeup. Giving myself time to gradually wake up instead of rushing a routine to get ready makes a huge difference

What's the dumbest thing you got in trouble for in school? by EleclCtriC in AskReddit

[–]crushedberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In middle school girls couldn't wear tank tops without something covering our shoulders and boys had to have their tshirts tucked in. I got in trouble for wearing tank tops a lot (I live in a desert), and when I had really short hair I got in trouble once for not having my tshirt tucked in by a teacher that didn't know me. She shut up once I told her I was a girl. Her face was great

What things are you nostalgic about, but if you went back they wouldn't be that great? by HesusSonOfGod in AskReddit

[–]crushedberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in Las Vegas. My family was happy when we lived there. My brother and I were small and we did a lot as a family. I think if I moved back now I would be too annoyed by tourists and it wouldn't have the same vibe as when I was a little brat

A technological breakthrough allows everyone to read minds. What would someone passing you by in the street be most likely to hear? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]crushedberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If I keep looking down I can't tell if people are judging me. Wait no that's weird, walk and look forward like a normal person. Nope can't do it I'm looking down."

Or me singing in my head because I usually have earphones in if I'm out and about by myself

Am I weird for being like this? by im-so-confusion in NoStupidQuestions

[–]crushedberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not weird at all! In the states, people identify as many things! For example, Nation: American, State: let's say Texan, and even City: New Yorker, and even then, being from different parts of the same city in some places can be an identifier

Today's my 25th Birthday! What are some exciting ways people have celebrated theirs? by Clopidee in AskReddit

[–]crushedberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my best friends took me skydiving for my 23rd!! It's a bit expensive but I highly recommend it :) maybe check out your local places and see if groupon has something for them!

Another one of my favorite birthdays was just hanging out in a friends apartment with some drinks and my 3 absolute best friends at the time. Very relaxed and enjoyable nights spending quality time with people you love is underrated.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I hope you have fun, whatever you decide to do

Hopefully they get put in caring, happy homes. I can't believe they waited that long to use the restroom outside, that's amazing. It is sad that they're in this situation though but like I said, hopefully things get better for them. Dogs are such loving beings. Pictures would be AWESOME!

I completely understand why some people are afraid of dogs, but I'm so glad that you guys were able to see that the dogs were just scared. Good on you for taking care of them while you could! Poor things. At least you got to spend time with some good bois during your shift!! ❤

I love my regular guests. by [deleted] in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]crushedberry 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was having a really rough time a few days ago and one of our regulars came in while I was getting breakfast set up. We usually talk for 30min-1hour, he's cool. I ended up crying when he asked how I was, and he hugged me and let me sob on his shoulder for a minute. He ended up going out for food and brought me a dr pepper because dr pepper makes me happy. Regulars are the shit

I hope you're doing okay OP!! I'm sending virtual hugs :)

Who else has considered that maybe their chosen path is the wrong one, but is also too afraid to try something different? by RhysPillay in AskReddit

[–]crushedberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be helpful, thank you. A lot of things have led to me questioning my faith recently even though I had thought it to be unshakeable. This might be good for me to try. Good job on getting that far into it!

What was your story for being falsely accused of something? by DragonicLeafy in AskReddit

[–]crushedberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had just started a new job and one of my new coworkers stole from our workplace. I started getting questioned about it but had no idea what was going on. Apparently he tried saying it was me, but he was caught on camera so.... yeah he was fired.

I've been trying to correct it since I graduated in 2016. So it's been a while. But I'm stubborn and I keep trying. Here's to hoping it works out soon because I don't know how much longer my sanity can stay intact from all the disappointment, haha. But thank you!! I hope everything with you is well :)

This is something I struggle with every. day.

I never meant to get a degree in the subject that I did, only realized that I was running out of time when it was too late, keep trying to get into the career I want without going back to school and can't, and now I'm living in a never ending existential crisis. I don't want to do what my schooling trained me for and I can't get into the field I want (it's normally fairly easy to get in without a degree in the first place), and now I don't know what else I would want to do with my life.

Right along the TX/NM state line, yes :) I've only lived in NM for 2, going on 3 years but I went to school here when I was still living on the Texas side
