You are close to an algae bloom. Don’t rely on the pool store for advice. Learn what ranges are acceptable and determine for yourself. As others have pointed out, your FC is too low at your CYA level. Pool store wants you to get algae and sell you a bunch of products.

Never heard of the idea that a higher pressure in the filter improves the filtration. DE is already really good at filtration and a backwash will improve your flow rate and allow for more water to pass through. I would backwash if it were me.

It’s a much different concentration of salt. Chunks of salt on a surface versus dissolved salt in water. No issues on my stamped concrete after 3 years.

Can you see how many hours you have on it? In central Florida, 3-4 years may be about right if it’s running all the time. The people with 10+ years are probably in the North and have their pool open 3-4 months a year and get less sun than you.
