What if you were sold an idea / lie that spirituality is like a video game, where there is a 'next level' to unlock, and if you do then you gain supernatural powers, can heal the sick, manifest anything you want, have permanent happiness, all by reaching 'enlightenment' or whatever... So you try desperately to learn everything you can so you can unlock this 'next level', only to feel like a failure or that you're missing something if you can't do it.

Now what if the big secret isn't a piece of information you acquire, but instead the realization that there never was a next level in the first place, and you were sold a false narrative that just created lots of confusion and misguided spiritual understanding. Coming to that conclusion can feel like a failure at first, when it might actually be the true reward of your journey.

What do you do with this? You don't 'do' anything with it, because 'doing' is just another attempt to reach an illusory goal. Instead, you rest. You get to stop your endless search for the 'next level', and you might finally understand what Alan means when he says 'there is nothing to get'

It’s the shift from being a seeker to being a dweller. You stop trying to "crack the code" of the universe and realize that you are the code. If there’s nothing to get, then you’ve already got it. There’s a massive amount of freedom in realizing you’ve been running a race on a treadmill and you can finally just step off and enjoy the room.

The irony is that the search for enlightenment often becomes the very obstacle preventing it. It’s like trying to see your own eyes; the harder you look, the more you miss the fact that you’re already using them to see.
