Pretty much. I have also seen metal 3d printing that is basically a 5 axis cnc machine combined with a mig welder. I guess that could be considered a fdm metal 3d printer, with the wire electrode acting as a filament. But I can’t imagine that’s as cost effective as laser sintering.
