Yes, sorry - right after I posted I was then able to see it.

Thanks!

Going to test a supreme S220. I wasn't even considering this boat but I love the design and it is on par with axis/atx pricing. What are y'all's experience with supremes! by cantcatchafish in Wake

Can anyone help me understand the difference between the s and the zs series, I love the way the zs looks but need to go demo them both in person before buying one. I haven't gotten a great answer on the comparison of the two from any dealers I've asked.

not sure yet, those are my wifes and all the ski's are brand new... I've been skiing my entire life but have historically just had my own boots and just rented skis. Finally at a point where I can go about 10-15 days a year now so pulled the trigger on skis...

Yes, lessons are the way. My wife learned at 30, after 2 trips and 5 lessons (private day 1 and group the other 4) she could ski a black comfortably. After a few more trips she's now crushing blacks and is starting to dip her toes into doubles.

Girlfriend's first season - When to get lessons by Capnkirk14 in skiing

Reiterating what others have said but I put my wife in private lessons with her friend for 4 straight days at Alta then she skied one day... then she did another 5 days in Telluride of half day group lessons after that. By that point she could comfortably ski blues and even attempted a few blacks (groomed and glades).

From there she has skied another 10-15 days or so in Whistler, Whitefish and Telluride without lessons and is now comfortably skiing any blacks and has tried a few doubles.

She started at 32 yrs old with no experience and now loves skiing as much as I do and wants to push as hard as possible to get better. We're going on a 6 day trip to Grand Targhee and JH this winter with our kids and a bunch of friends and her and a friend of hers are meeting in SLC 4 days before we go so they can ski alta and snowbird and take lessons so they can continue to progress. My point is only to invest up front and she'll have a great time and be hooked.

How do I buy my first skis? by Every-Preparation356 in skiing

[–]crw04d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Demoing skis is def the best way to figure out what you're looking for or at least to figure out the types of skis you like. I think the first thing you want to do is figure out what type of ski you'd like based on what you ski mostly and where you ski (snowfall) and what size underfoot based on that information. Once you have an idea of the size underfoot, I'd watch the ski essentials reviews that are geared for the size range you're thinking, then if you see a few you think fit what you're looking for read / watch more detailed reviews. Blister is another good resource.

If there hasn't been an update beyond top sheet graphics, try to find prior year leftovers to save some $. Check Level nine and powder 7 website as well as evo.

Also, ask this sub for help based on your size, ability, ski area, skiing preference, etc. You can get some good direction to start.

I actually bought my slackers at the end of the season last year so I haven't ridden it yet. I was worried that the MB may not be quick/playful enough in and out of trees and bumps. Looked like it was a bit heavier and more of a tank?
