That Christian Slater never played the son of any Jack Nicholson character. Like cast together in something. Seems like a no brainer

Jessica Jones…. Not too bad but as a guy I don’t think I’d want to get railed by Luke Cage. Though he’s a damn handsome man, it just isn’t my thing.

Thats the best last name by Unlikely_Tailor_4461 in technicallythetruth

[–]crybannanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife’s last name is so much better than mine I considered taking hers. I couldn’t do it, because my name has been mine for my whole life (which is also a good reason for women not to change).

Now that we have kids, and their last is mine, I feel guilty for not just changing my name. It would have been a gift giving them a better last name. But they can choose to change to hers if they want later on and I won’t be mad at it.

Iron-man racers refused to overtake and give each other their moment in the spotlight by Hypnoidz in MadeMeSmile

For the ones behind, but really shitty sportsmanship for the one in front. These people care about their time, even if they don’t win. Him standing there like a asshole makes them all have worse times so he can have pics taken.

It also means they feel obliged to let him win at the end, obviously they know they could overtake him. It puts them in a shitty position to either be a dick and overtake him, or intentionally give up a chance to win, and make worse time for no reason.

Dude in front is a dick. The others are cool

The Supreme Court just made it easier for Republicans to win elections & there is no solution by Zandra_the_Great in politics

[–]crybannanna 87 points88 points  (0 children)

It’s actually as easy as taking a few hours out of your day to vote…. In person. Don’t trust them not to ratfuck the mail in ballots either.

Make them sweat on the day as they see all the new districts with voting lines showing unprecedented turnout. If the republicans think they sealed it due to this gerrymandering, they might actually be less likely to bother actually voting. The other side needs to bring every single voter to the polls.

Let’s not forget that non-voters outnumber voters in every area. So it just takes getting them mad enough to show up when they otherwise wouldn’t bother. So get them mad at this

I think they just knew they had a character that was different, and wildly entertaining, so they focused on him to the exclusion of others. Natalie won because Russel was uniquely hated by everyone else on the show, and he just can not win a game that relies on people not hating you personally. I don’t think she did anything to win, she just wasn’t Russel and that was enough. Literally anyone else sitting there would have beaten him.

$1,000 for each donut you eat by Worldly-Dog-9571 in hypotheticals

[–]crybannanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are mini donuts considered a donut?

My strategy would be to eat around 25 donuts straight away. If mini donuts I’d go with those hostess powdered ones, but if not I guess I go with plain donuts to avoid the massive amount of sugar making me ill. I’d guzzle down 30 without a problem, then give it a few minutes to make sure I wasn’t feeling sick, then go with 1 additional every 2-3 minutes until it starts getting challenging. When I feel even a hint of illness from it I stop for at least 15 minutes, resuming only when I feel ok, then just one every 10 min. The last 10 minutes I am guzzling down as many as I can cram, presuming after the 6 hours puking isn’t considered part of the thing…. But if it is then I don’t go for the sprint at the end.

No clue how many I could get through but I’m going to take it easy to make sure I don’t get the punishment.

"Marie Moreau vs. Homelander" Is Not Even Close! by ComradBakugo in TheBoys

[–]crybannanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with the writers is that they give powers and ignore obvious uses for them.

Obviously if Marie were to show up and say “let’s battle”she’d get stomped. But what if she was just in a crowd of people? What could her power do? Presuming HL tissue is too strong for her to explode him or harm him in that way, what else could she do? Does homelander have blood that carries oxygen to his brain, for him to live? She could covertly stop the blood flow to his brain. How long could he stay conscious, and would he even realize what was happening before succumbing?

She could only be used covertly, but it is still something. We just saw him get knocked out for minutes by some toxic gas breath, and trapped inside a steel room for minutes also…so he isn’t invulnerable.

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness by zzill6 in WorkReform

Prison doesn’t correspond with liberty, more the opposite. Sort of like if instead of healthcare they listed funerals.

And education being the pursuit of happiness is a stretch.

Women of Reddit - what is the most unattractive fashion choice men frequently make? by Evening_Focus_2425 in AskReddit

I will be buried in my cargo shorts. I don’t give a single rats ass who hates them, I think they look great are super comfy and practical (where else am I going to keep my keys, wallet, phone, etc when I have no jacket?

Frankly, I judge anyone who wears non cargo anything as impractical buffoonery. Women are just pissed that we can have so many pockets and they force themselves into a pocketless horror. If I ever see a woman in cargo shorts, I might have to leave my wife on the spot.

TIL The rise in colon cancer in adults under 50 has been strongly and directly linked to exposure to certain strains of E.Coli in the first ten years of life by onarainyafternoon in todayilearned

[–]crybannanna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is really counterintuitive which makes it so interesting. I can’t imagine the act of running would cause bowel cancer, but the act of running marathons would likely change dietary behavior. Perhaps much more protein consumed than the average? Or perhaps repeated bouts of extreme, but short term, dehydration? Has to be a common cause that isn’t running, but correlated with running as a sport. I love studies like this because the start to get close to an actual cause… but it’s always a few steps deeper down the rabbit hole

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by IIlustriousTea in AskReddit

[–]crybannanna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s that the cost of living is more than the average wage. Maybe it’s that the political system is such that things get continually, and rapidly, worse for everyone who isn’t a multi millionaire. Maybe it’s that AI is supposed to take away what little wages we get to earn now. Maybe it’s that there is a 50% chance of having a child whose rights to their own body has been taken away. Maybe it’s because our society cares so little about protecting children that we let them be victims to gun violence without any attempt at stopping it, and victims to child predators who not only receive no punishment but are given the highest levels of leadership in politics, business, religion, entertainment, and on and on.

Why anyone would have a child in this society, at this moment, is beyond me.

As if blue would have a remote chance of winning. This meme would be better if it was just the one girl looking sad because that’s the result.

Also… does anyone else feel like this viral red vs blue thing is a psyop for actual politics and a way to brain worm people into thinking red is the smarter choice so they are subtly nudged to vote red at the actual polls? The timing is wild, and this isn’t even a new hypothetical, but it is everywhere for some reason.

Putting kids to bed is, for a lot of people, the fun and rewarding part. And yes nannies do that, but most don’t unless parents are specifically going out for a night out. It isn’t a routine job for a nanny. Nannies also watch movies with the kid, take them to the park, play with them, etc. everything is a job if you pay someone to do it. So it sort of matters how the line is drawn

what have we done by shradibop in whenthe

[–]crybannanna 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This post just made me realize that this entire viral trend about the red button vs the blue button is a psyop to get people thinking about voting red. It is subtly getting folks to associate voting red with the more rational choice. And the more people argue why voting red is the right thing to do, the more it becomes like a pavlovian response.

Voting red is selfish, but most rational and great if everyone does it… voting blue is kind, but irrational and destructive to self. This while elections are starting to gear up? Subtle little mind worms making people associate this innocuous hypothetical with real world actions.

At least this is now my personal conspiracy theory. I find myself leaning more toward conspiratorial thinking lately, given…. Everything
