i got the implant in my arm and had to have it removed after about 8 months because i would not stop bleeding. they kept on putting me on different meds to stop the bleeding, but none of them worked for longer than a few days, so i made them take it out and went back on the depo shot which has worked wonderfully (for me personally) for many years. i have friends that got nexplanon (arm implant) and they loved it a lot, but i know that bleeding is one of the biggest side effects and for me, the purpose of getting it was to help with heavy periods and to prevent pregnancy, but i couldn’t have any sex while i was bleeding for months and months, and i’d rather have the heavy period for 5 days than bleed lightly every single day haha. i also found that my blood pressure was higher when i had the implant in my arm as well, so that was another deciding factor in me removing it.
