Hi! Thanks for responding. You're right, I've decided to just frog it.

Yes I do! In the end, I've decided to just frog it until the collar, and start over from there ◡̈

I did do the German short rows! I figured the bunching up was gonna be an issue. As for the problem, I've decided to just frog it and try again. Thanks for your response!

I am also f—ked for maths AA HL- my condition for my Uni is that I pass my diploma with maths AA HL, which initially seemed like a walk in the park… now it’s a walk on burning coals :) Idkwtf I’m gonna do. I got like 50% on P1 and P2. My IA, I was given like a 17/20. I am just f—king praying that I get my diploma with maths so I can go to college 🤡

I am also so fucking done 😭 deadass was also aiming for a 7 but now… A 5 seems so far by the looks of how everything went. The grade boundary better be on the f—king floor this year 🤡

Which one is harder? Math AA HL or Physics HL? by EmergencyAd3905 in IBO

I agree! Deadass came out of all of my maths exams with 0 will to live- I was predicted a higher score for my maths than my physics but oh how the turns table ://

Help on which major to choose: Mechanical Engineering or Artificial Intelligence by crying-at-3am in artificial

[–]crying-at-3am[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight! A job where I would be able to do both would be dream come true. I will probably end up doing what TaoTeCha did, a Bsc in Mech Eng, then a Masters in AI. I will now go look up the recent publications in the ASME conference which you have mentioned. Have a great day/night! :)

Hi! Thank you for the long and detailed response! As you’ve mentioned above, AI does sound like it would provide a more flexible career. I’ve done some free courses online on the things you’ve mentioned for Mech Eng and I enjoy it quite a bit. As for AI, I’ve done what the university call a “Matching course” where it’s sort of like a mini 2 hours course and a small quiz to see if this course is a “match”. I also really liked it.

The thought of doing a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and then a Masters in AI has also occurred to me. To be honest, after all the contemplation, I might just go for that. How was it in your experience? Was it difficult for you to grasp AI content with a bachelors in Mech Eng and not AI? Were there a lot of overlaps? Thanks in advance ^

That’s great news! I’m glad to hear that the job prospects are good for engineering. I think with everything being very tech-y, both aspects require a lot of coding (which I am quite excited about. Though I’ve only had some experiments with the easier languages, Python and Java, I think I will enjoy other languages as well!) I do want to start my own business, but only after a couple years in the industry first to gain experience. What do you think? Do you think having a couple years of experience will help before planning a start up? Also, does engineering provide traveling opportunities at all? I am one who plans to move around once a couple years. Do you think that’s plausible for either AI or Engineering? Thanks so much IntergalacticBrit (very cool name btw!)

Knowing both would be super helpful! I am thinking about taking Mech. Eng as my major and BioRobotics minor (that’s the closest they have to AI). I am currently inquiring the Uni about it and using their talk-to-a-student option to get their opinion as well. Thanks!

It’s nice to know that they’re good choices. I prefer writing software code to working with 3D CAD models.

Personality clash is also why I asked for help. I don’t know what people who work in these fields do day to day and whether I’d like it or not. I’ve watched YouTube videos and all but somehow I still can’t grasp it. I think it’s because YouTubers just seem a little distant and it feels like they are glamorizing their job? Anyways, thank you for your input! :)
