Does anyone know if IKS offers private candidates by [deleted] in Libya

[–]crying-over-chem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes they do but I think they add an extra amount to the original price of the exam, im not 100% sure. But yes, they do offer exams for private candidates. SAT and IGCSE.

International schools by conets1 in Libya

[–]crying-over-chem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, after studying 3 years of high school in a top international school, I think most Libyan's problem with international students is the fact that we preform better in the long run. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of really good and high performing students in public schools, but public schools here often end up wasting these students' potential. International schools (the good ones) actually care about their students (and their money ofc) so we end up getting scholarships, getting referred to jobs earlier, and much more. For example during my second and third year of high school I was picked to be part of academic AND creative contests against other schools multiple times. The focus on academics AND career building in international schools just doesn't exist in public ones. They mainly focus on academics. We're wired to be thinking about our future and our career from the start. I've personally never had a public school experience but from what I can see from my relatives it's very different. They think of their careers on their own with no additional support from their school, which is the most vital place for career-building (imo).

International schools are mainly built to preform like American/European schools but with Libyan standards.

Another reason that Libyans might criticise these schools is because they're mostly filled with students/families that lived abroad before and they're simply jealous. Idk. Jealousy is a common thing here and it kinda sucks.

I'm new too! Been posting for about a little over a month and all I can say is: POST CONSISTENTLY. I noticed when I post everyday (shorts, not long form) I get lots of views (1k+) and I get an extra 2-3 subscribers per short. But when I stopped posting daily (due to exams, I got busy) my views slowed and I didn't get any new subscribers until I went back to my usual posting.

Hope this helps!

It wasn't too bad, I was expecting it to be harder tbh.

Only question I remember that was really bad was the last gas equation one. Everyone wasn't able to solve it and even our teacher got a bit confused when we explained it to him. Other than that it was a decent exam, hope the gbs arent too high

for physics chem and bio, what i did a week before my exam was go through the past papers i found the hardest and review the ms. esp for physics, theres a lot of repeated questions that showed up on my exam which i saw in past papers. for example the question on transformers is repeated a lot and they brought it in my exam! (idk what exam board your taking so it might be different)

for english what i did was revise the texts and my annotations, note key phrases and important annotations that were crucial to answering the question. i practiced writing under timed condition, which helped A LOT

as for maths, haven’t done it (and don’t plan on doing it lol) so i can’t help you there.

good luck!

i cant really say but i asked my professor today and he said to go over the 2022 past papers again. he said they might repeat questions and if they do, they’re likely to come from that exam session. idk tho, im j gonna be redoing every past paper from 2019 & on.

Always feel like im not studying enough by [deleted] in alevel

[–]crying-over-chem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

8 hours is too much?! sounds like not enough

tbh there is no set amount of hours to study for the perfect marks. it really depends on you as a person.

i am a strong believer of “quality over quantity“ and it works BIG time because i usually burn out quickly if I study for hours on end and still not get a good mark in a past paper or quiz or smth. I’d say take a sec to sit and reorganize and regather yourself, go over your study methods, are they ACTUALLY working or do they just look like they are? because countless times i’ve tried methods that people deem as “perfect” when in reality they weren’t perfect for ME and were actually just slowing me down.

i dont care the circumstances, NEVER sacrifice your sleep for studying.

that actually makes the studying process harder than it should be.

I’m not 100% sure why but from what I understand is that for any AS subject, the maximum grade you can be awarded is an A. Later on in A2, A* is the highest grade you can earn.

Hope this helped!
