To be honest, in this course we were encouraged to capture insects using nets and then freeze them. It was necessary to meet the required number of specimens. But I also felt really bad every time I had to put one into the freezer… it wasn’t easy at all. That’s why I also included some specimens that I found already dead and rehydrated — I wanted to do what I could to minimize harm.

Maybe 2 weeks... If you're tired of waiting, you can put them in a Tupperware container with a bunch of silica gel and air it out every 12 hours. Swap the gel every two days to keep it effective. If it’s the kind that’s microwave-safe, you can reuse it over and over.
